It does feel inappropriate to scout out their full practices when they are trying things and having personal discussions, if you're not a current parent. Only exception would be if you happened to pass by and wanted to watch for a few minutes, just to see the old gang. Better if you were also catching up with parent friends from the old team.
Watching matches is a different story. That seems more defensible, depending how close you were with the team. But probably not wise to do it too often!
