Just playing Devil's Advocate here...
I looked at all this and the teams' records etc (Summer Mondays are sloooooow at my job). If I'm looking at the right teams, the last time the 2 teams played each other, the G10s did lose to the G11s 1-5 no? Doesn't it stand to reason that this scheduled/unscheduled game would have had a similar result? Now that's not necessarily a good reason reason to cancel a game, but it wouldn't be the first time.

Also I'm confused, did both teams show up for the game and it was cancelled on the spot? Were there refs there and everything? Different posts say different things.

I'm not advocating for ANY club (especially Susa with all their freaking shenanigans) to pull crap to fix rankings, but this doesn't feel as swarmy as it's being made out to be.

Apparently it was scheduled only by the club with the league. It was not put on the players schedules and it was not played.

the league then switched the game to a forfeit in favor of the team that would take 1st.

parents just found out about all of this over weekend, i wrote my coach and she never replied to me. there has been no communication from the club to parents about this.

yes, the 2011s would prob. beat us they are very good but we want to play. we pay alot of money here not to have games forfeited when we want to play.

It's match fixing that affects 3rd parties that aren't SUSA.

perhaps susa just thought to save g10 girls the embarrassment of losing again to the g11 girls. (like the mercy rule in lij). you try to do a nice thing and people get their panties in bunches, go figure...yet not surprised in this day and age.

If it didn't affect the division standings, fine, don't play the game. But in this case it determines who gets first place place in a division and the third party is harmed by this game not being played yet still counting as a win.

LIJSL has a mercy rule where a team forfeits a game before it even starts?

Just enter the championship game as a forfeit by Susa if that is how to solve things. The kids will understand as that is what they have been taught.

The girls absolutely see what is going on.

I am a parent on susa, and many of us are friendly with all the teams affected by this. NO ONE is happy about this. We are not happy about the way the club and the league handled this.

We do not understand why they did not just allow the teams to play. Let the team just win fair and square. What they did makes no sense to any of us. Now there is all this drama that casts a shadow over of what was a very good season.

As of today there has been no communication from the club about this and many of us have written about it.
