SUSA/LIET Memorial Day Tournament a bust

After a fast start to the tournament game it looks like SUSA tournaments are a bust. The last showcase was not well attended and the Memorial Day Tournament was a complete failure.

Do you think clubs are avoiding SUSA tournaments because of how unethical they are?

Clubs are boycotting because of Larry Miller's disgusting online behavior

I don't like Larry Miller and never have but he isn't in the equation about attending SUSA tournament. We are not supporting them because how they operate and over promise to families.

Our club went to EMSC tourney because we don’t have to worry about them targeting players or targeting teams to move over. We had a whole team recruited to go over there last year and most will leave and come back or go to another club. Susa is famous for this and this is why they have trouble getting teams to play in their tourneys. Plus these parents payed so much more to play there for the same league.

ALL SUSA tournaments are all meant for you to pay for the privilege of being beat up on by the SUSA teams. Its a revenue thing for SUSA, hardly a real "tournament". SUSA tournaments always have been, and all the local clubs around the island will ALWAYS choose the other options.

We will never attend a SUSA tournament over the unethical way they built their program.

Why would I give money to an organization that's not trying to compete with my club, but instead trying to destroy it?

My kid has played travel soccer for 3 years now, but I havent ever seen SUSA approach any players or teams in that whole time (and we play SUSA teams occasionally). Does that mean my team isn't any good, or that SUSA poaching is a bit overstated?

I think most clubs feel this way.

The first couple of years that SUSA made their big expansion push they were throwing the bribe money around awfully heavy. It made a lot of enemies.

Someone needs to file a lawsuit against Susa. They are obviously using Jedi mind tricks to force parents and kids away from the clubs that they really want to play at and making them stay against their free will. Susa is bad and infringing upon the American people’s freedoms.

The poaching issue may be the case for Long Island teams but most teams off LI would rather go south to NJ tournaments or up to CT or MA and play out there - the traffic is a nightmare on LI and if I can take my team to another tournament somewhere else, I'd much rather do that.

I have no problem with them attracting players through advertising and being a solid program. It was the secret bribe money to club presidents, coaches and trainers to get teams, and in some cases whole clubs, to move over to SUSA that we object to.
