How does a club stop players from leaving ? They paid BWG for the partnership ? Not possible in youth soccer.

What does a badge have to do with it? If it is a good situation for your son great , if not move on. It is youth soccer, no contacts unless your son is playing in the MLS Next and those can be terminated as well.
