Everyone thinks it is somebody else that is contributing to the skyrocketing asymptomatic spread. Some other traveler is doing that but it could not possibly be them.

Already the emails are coming from the school - going to remote learning from the cases coming in due to spread from holiday break travel. But of course they all said when the got on and off the planes, and in and out of the rental car facilities, and in and out of the hotels, and the food joints and on and on and on, that it was not going to be them bringing their asymptomatic covid back to everyone else.

Or else they did not give a rat's ass.

Isn’t there a blackout period going on?
Blackout period restricts in-person recruiting. D1 coaches can still watch livestreams and video. And I believe D2 and D3 are not restricted under this blackout.

Why are coaches watching clubs that ignored the guidance? There is plenty of video that can be obtained from games played according to the guidance, not from clubs that traveled all over creation to play a soccer game.

The irony is that these soccer programs represent institutions of higher learning that are supplying all these highly educated infectious disease and public health experts. They they turn around and support clubs and leagues that are ignoring the scientific expertise from their graduates.

That IS why they are watching. to make sure those players/families don't get anywhere near their programs. The only thing that they care more about than soccer ability is if they are good citizens; these families all failed that test.

I dont think that is true. I dont think these college programs are being properly incentivized to respect the scientific guidance.

Do you really think college coaches are keeping track of state guidelines for out of state travel? The funny thing is many will be watching live streams from the safety of their own homes rather than travel themselves.

Love this post! Nail on head!!

There is no need for a youth team to fly to Florida for a soccer game. The other poster is right these families failed the test of common sense.

If they had communicated to the clubs that would like to see them respect the guidance, then the clubs would not be incentivized to ask players and their families to travel at this time.

It is not even state by state guidance at this time - this is nationwide guidance at this point. Do you see how fast this thing is surging right now and how close we are to an end?

Cant we all just play more locally for just a little while longer and help to beat this thing?

The responses are coming from a DOC at Susa. I will give you a hint his initials are JR.
One current susa coach and former susa coach has told us that jr goes on this website and botn and writes nasty posts as well as posts to try and deflect criticism against susa. He and a couple other then play the guessing game and try to blame posts on certain parents. Worse yet they ask Larry miller for IP addresses on posters which is sort of useless for a number of reasons. Larry of course turns the information over.

People some of these soccer people around our children are the furthest thing from role models.

These colleges should definitely boycott these clubs and players that do not have the discipline and care to do what’s right. What type of example does that set and most importantly do you want to have such people be part of your program???

The league ran the silly event and the clubs and colleges participated. Responsibility needs to come first from the leagues and the clubs and the colleges.

It is hard for a team player to refuse to go when the team is being asked to go.
