^ this. There's plenty of overlap between the top of one league and the bottom of the one above it. If the ten month thing appeals to you or you just aren't interest in HS ball you have an option. If you want to play HS you have many more options. Pick a good fit and good coaching. Worry less about the patch.

Very good analysis/analogy. GAL pretty much equals EDP Div 1/2. I still don’t get why the leagues did not merge to form one system within the USYS umbrella? Who are they trying to fool and what bells and whistles are there???

Everyone wants to feel special. Otherwise, he must face the reality that unless he makes starting lineup on one of a dozen or so professional teams in world, he is nothing more than a mediocre soccer player.

too much money to be made and no one wants to shrink their slice of the pie. so they keep moving around to different leagues, new leagues keep getting created to fill demand, no one ever plays each other and families pass by each other going to play games out of state that not less than 10 years ago would have been in state.

You know these clubs played friendlies against each other all fall? So we don't need to draw conclusions, just look at the actual scores. I think you'll find you are wrong about everything.

"Look at the results against the same teams. Surf defeated or tied teams that pummeled the Slammers."
-Manhattan slammed the Slammers 5-1. Surf tied Manhattan 1-1
-Patriots beat the Slammers 4-2. Surf beat Patriots 3-2
-Stony Brook beat the Slammers 4-2. Surf beat Stony Brook 1-0

Surf has over a dozen girls in the 2021 class committed to play in college. Several D1 going to schools like UConn, Stony Brook, Manhattan, several D2 playing at 2019 National Semi-Finalist St. Rose and several D3 heading to Nescac & Little Ivy like Trinity and Swarthmore.

Nobody knows where the Slammer players are committed, if any are at all, but I guarantee it doesn't look like the Surf list.

So please enlighten, what am I wrong about?

Amazing what a flawed system exists fueled by $$ only and nothing else. Why create a league like GAL when quality leagues like ECNL and USYS already existed and are well established???

USSF initially tried to work with ECNL but it quickly fell apart. Their solution was to create another massive national league to try and put ECNL out of business. It obviously failed. ECNL was too well entrenched and the HS issuetoo importantto many players. Not enough clubs and players were willing to jump in, or if they did they quickly jumped out.

the only thing you're wrong about is assuming Slammers parents live in reality

The scores you are citing is for what age group? And based on one age group you make assumption that the entire club is better?

Considering we were talking about the 2005s, doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. And no, nobody is making an assumption based on one team, overall Surf has stronger teams and in the past few years have had much stronger college commitments.

Had no idea this thread was about 2005s. But your comment about the last few years is strange since Slammers started in August

Adding a player or 2 from Sachem or EI doesn't make Smithtown a new club. Neither does changing uniforms every other year, lol.

Again, are you speaking about a specific team? That may be true at the older ages but not the younger ones. In fact, the younger age groups are attracting players from many different parts of Suffolk. Will those teams be any good, who knows, time will tell, but you do not have your facts correct. Also, there are other age groups where Slammers destroyed Surf so for the person who cited scores from one age bracket your point is not made.

How are the facts not correct? OP said Surf was stronger than Slammers in a convo about 2005 players and then posted the scores. OP said Surf had a better record of college placements and then posted the commits for 2021 class. I think they made their point pretty well. You on the other hand are spewing nonsense with no facts to back it up just going back to the Slammer stand by of time will tell-LMFAO.
