GAL is set, just waiting for clearance to start in early or late fall.

We are already in phase 1. The only league to have a plan. EDP is still trying to convince people that they will have a season and GAL and MLS haven't even figured out their league yet

You people are obsessed with the "marketing" angle, lol. I'm not on anyone's payroll, and I think GAL is a B- version of GDA which wasn't that great to begin with. It's mostly clubs that were pretty lousy in NPL and EDP but got the golden badge because USSF was trying to corner the market and push out ECNL. Now those clubs don't want to go back to EDP or USYS because their little superstars are too *special* for that, LMFAO.

If GDA couldn't make it with the support of USSF and (initially) many of the nation's top clubs, how will GAL survive as a poorly conceived and managed league, with clubs who hadn't bailed in the last 3 years now clawing their way out? Maybe it survives a few years as a kind of NPL level competitor but do we need another B league?

GDA should have never happened. ECNL boys is a joke. GDA only happened because PC caused USSF to have a girls league. Too much political pressure and stupid activists that bemoaned the fact that USSF only had a boy's program. Nevermind the fact that ECNL was the top league for girls and was doing a good job.

It is this PC culture and activists that are destroying everything in this country. Hopefully MLS will be strong enough to ignore them and have a boys only league and boys only MLS clubs.

For reasonable people we can see ECNL top girls league and addition of boys program to help fund the girls. The boys in that league can continue to be cheerleaders, watch Frozen without fear of being made fun of and support the women at their clubs with fundraisers and boosters.

Boy soccer players on the other hand can play in the MLS league with programs, facilities, and a over mentality geared for the development of boys into men and playing the men's game of soccer. The men's game is much different than the woman's game.

It is a win-win for both and the activists can focus on other things like boosting college enrollment for girls from 57% (43% boys) to an even higher number. Or doing PSA's about how misogynistic men are.

It was also about PC. USSF had just been slapped with it's first lawsuit by WNT. Started the academy to say "look we have girls too!" Had they started it when they started the boys, or shortly after, ECNL never would have gotten a hold of the market.
