SUSA - No refunds, small credit eventually

This letter is just a tad disgusting considering that it justifies the no refund/small credit due to expenses while at the same time they are bragging about buying Fury FC.

    Dear SUSA Families,

We hope this email finds you well. This week US Club Soccer published this email stating that the return-to-play decision making has been delegated to local government. Since most of NY State has not yet started Phase 1 of reopening, it seems highly unlikely that we will be able to participate in league play in the coming weeks. Based on the current information, SUSA is granting the following credits to our members to be applied to the 2020/21 season:

Annual tuition of $3,000 plus = $375 credit

Annual tuition of $2,000 plus = $275 credit

Annual tuition of $1,600 plus = $175 credit

*Tuition amount above is based on the net amount paid to SUSA.

Any tournaments that were included and missed in the 2019/20 season will be added next year. Any remaining balance in the team account will be rolled into next season’s budget or refunded by the team admin.

Here are two options available to you regarding your 2020/21 tuition credit:

    1. Support our cause: We hope that you continue to support the Long Island youth soccer community by donating your credit to NYSEF https://nationalyouthsef.org which supports underprivileged local players. This would provide tuition assistance to children in underserved communities. Your credit will automatically be converted into a tax-deductible donation and your family will be included on the published SUSA Donors List. To donate your credit and receive documentation, please click here https://sports.formstack.com/forms/youthdonation

    2. If you wish to apply your credit to next season it will be applied to your final installment in March 2021.

There are many variables that go into running the club under these unforeseen circumstances. Including, but not limited to, staff retention, club management, club overhead, member communication, individual program home workouts, expenses from leagues, cups and tournaments. Refunds are not available for players who choose not to return. Credits will be applied to player accounts in good standing only. If you still owe tuition for the 2019/20 season you are responsible for the balance. Please contact us as soon as possible to take care of any outstanding balances so that you do not miss out on receiving your credit.

We thank you for your support during this difficult time. We miss our players tremendously and cannot wait to return to play.

    Please continue to stay safe.

    Keep Loving Soccer...

Lol, they will give a small refund to the seniors, less than $0.20 on the dollar. But they aren't even going to give that money back until sometime in August.

    Dear SUSA Families,

We hope this email finds you well. We want to provide you with an update on the spring/summer season for the 2002 teams. Based on state governments and the soccer governing bodies, the spring season looks like it will not be played and tournaments over the summer will be in jeopardy.

SUSA would to do the following for the seniors:

Offer the seniors a $300 tuition refund to all players in good financial standing. The refund will be distributed in August.
Continue to provide online and virtual workouts for players from now until they head to college.
If we can get outside, we as a staff would continue to train all players until they leave for their individual collegiate programs.
We are also working on senior gifts for all players that we would normally distribute at the team's last home game. However, during this pandemic, that does not look like a possibility so we will find alternative plans for the distribution.

We thank you for your support during this difficult time. We miss our players tremendously and cannot wait to return to play.

Please continue to stay safe. If you have any questions, please reach out to James Kelsh on the boys side and myself on the girls side.

Be well and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the field when it is safe.

This is so bad on the part of SUSA that even Larry on BOTN is attacking the decision. Imagine they went out and acquired PRSS/Albertson during the shutdown. And they are unwilling to give their loyal customers a refund. They will be cutting and and demoting these paying customers to make room for the players they just bought with the money they got paid for the spring season. In case you didn’t know the spring season and tournaments were canceled. That means they took money from paying customers (for a service not provided) to buy another organization to replace current players.

You know this was a real “slick” move.

I think the love affair between Larry & Susa is coming to an end. I've seen a few posts lately criticizing the club, individual coaches, their complex and growth. My guess is they reduced their advertising...
