why should the trainer waste his/her time with the 13 girls who:

    a) have no clue what they are doing.
    b) not putting in the effort like the top 4.
    c) do not show the enthusiasm of wanting to get better.

fyi, there are many many many kids out there whose parents just sign them up for all this extra stuff and the kids are really just "going through the motions" of a practice.

Why should the trainer waste his/her time with these kids?

Because that is what he is getting paid for. To motivate them and make them better.

point of the original post is that you are paying for something that YOU want. Not necessarily what your child wants.

You don't have to be a soccer expert to see witch kids are putting in a stronger effort in practice and who is not....KNOW YOUR CHILD.

and remember the old term "buyer beware"...Training/coaching is not a one size fits all. Find a trainer that your kid has a good report with. Not just follow a badge thinking anyone will lead your kid to the promise land. You only get what you earn. capeesh?

Hate to break it to you, but that's not how it works in sports. Baseball, socccer, lx, football, hoops, etc. Trainers/coaches focus on the top decile. Why? Bc the others will be quitting shortly. If you dont love it, even as much as the parents may want it, parents and kids will eventually quit and spend their $$ and time elsewhere.

Which is why I said earlier that Danillo is great with small groups but not whole teams. I was trying to make the next potential "buyer" be aware of his history. He is great when dealing with just a few kids at a time but for whatever reason he doesn't do nearly as well with larger groups.

The team hired him to make the whole team better, not just 4 girls on the team. If he doesn't want to do that and just wants to concentrate on 4 girls, he shouldn't take the job.

EVERY coach focuses on the top. EVERY. Think about it from his standpoint: who's likely to come to (and pay) my smaller sessions? The better kids. Here's a better idea, work with Johnnie or Janie and make them better, then the coaches will slobber on them...

LOL, no. While I agree that a lot of coaches focus on the top. That doesn't make them good coaches. The good coaches work harder on those that are falling behind because this is a team sport and a team is only as good as it's weakest link.

No they dont. Not professionals. Why waste time on a kid with 2 left feet? Maybe the Dad coach does, bc he doesnt know any better. The good coach says, move that turd to the B team and bring someone in who can carry her/his weight.

danillo is basically supplemental training, is he not? Your argument that this is a "team sport" does not apply.

Aside from him taking select kids to futsal championships in NJ. all girls play for other teams.

Like I said before...If your kid is not working hard enough, not showing the most enthusiasm at practice, ect. The problem is not the coach/trainer...its the kid.

When you show up to practice (no matter the age) you come prepared to work hard, show up ready to ask questions, show up with a sparkle in your eye ready and eager to learn and get better, quicker, stronger, smarter.

If your kid is not doing this...Its on them and YOU are probably just wasting your money.
