Susa Boys Zero College Commitments (2019)

SUSA has a proven track record of getting girls college soccer scholarships - but on the boys side there is zero! This academy charges ridiculous amounts to money to play there but I can't find any boy that played there that got a college soccer scholarship.

Here are the sources I have looked at:

    https://www.soccerwire.com/recruitin...50UGFnZSI6MX0=

Here you will find a couple of Barca NY and NYCFC players that got one. But nothing for SUSA. The funny thing is Barca NY has only been around for 2 years or so -> but SUSA around a lot longer!

On the girls side it flooded:

    ================================================== =====

So you cannot knock SUSA on the girls side -> but on the boys -> don't waste your money!!!

thats not the real issue. The real issue is that for college scholarships for the boys (most of the money which is not alot to begin with goes to foreign players). Foreign boys players are more talented, we all know this.

Conversely, for the girls The talent for girl soccer players is mostly here in the US. (there are always exceptions I know). But the US woman have proved many times we have the best players hands down.

Landing a college spot is much harder for boys., something many families don't realize until they get into the recruiting process. There are fewer programs and as said above foreigners take a chunk of the spots each year (at least for D1 and D2, much less so D3). That means if you have to be a much better player and preferably in DA to make rosters, especially for stronger college programs. For D3 DA isn't a necessity and D3 "commits" aren't really "committed" until they get accepted, which basically now if they applied ED or EA. There still could be commits announced from there. Outside of DA and some ECNL clubs, a lot of clubs like SUSA will have only a handful of male commits at most. Does it look worse to just post the few they get or not post any at all?

Ladies game is trending in that direction too noticed Stanford and UNC had a handful of internationals as well...only a matter of time but I agree not as prevalent as the boys.

It is growing but off a very small base and mostly at the top programs. FL has a lot too. There also isn't the same quantity of international female talent as there is on the men's side. That's growing also, of course, but has a lot of catching up to do.

there is definitely great female talent in other countries, no doubt about it (hence the exception) but really just a drop in the bucket percentage wise compared to US girls.

I think mostly because the US invests a hell lot more money in our girls than other countries do for theirs....is the world catching up to the USA with supporting girls soccer?

Have you seen Barcelona U14 Girls destroy the U15 PDA team that is one of the best in that age group? It tells you the rest of the world is catching and surpassing us on the girls side as well.

D1soccer and Title9 gave us an advantage for years. With no substantive womens leagues it was and still mostly is the pinnacle. But now other countries are investing in the women's side, both at the youth and professional levels. That's why other countries are catching up and making USSF nervous. That's one reason why they started GDA. Problem is GDA isn't going to help us stay ahead.

D1 and D2 can offer athletic scholarships. D3 are technically not scholarships - but grants. So if you are trying to get a D3 grant (which is never a full ride), your GPA better be over 3.5.

That's Mostly a load of crap- Ok, I'll give you D1, they definitely have a lot of European players, BUT D2 has many scholarships available and D3 has academic scholarships-(which can get even better if you are a top player)

NOT EVERYONE IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR D1 BALL

Some D2 programs are crammed with foreign players because the academic requirements are low. i've seen some rosters with 15+ internationals, all of them the starters and first subs. The Americans are there as practice cones. To get D3 merit money you need to be a few derivations above that schools's standards. $20K off of $65K is helpful but you're still scrapping for the other$45K/year

NYCFC has half their team on with D1 scholarships along with several kids who went the pro route.
