The NY Force Soccer Club , www.nyforcesoccerclub.com/tryounts aims to be the first fully funded non-affiliated soccer club in the Tri-State area. NYFSC will commence with a Girls U14 team that will train on Randall's Island 7-9pm 3 days a week. NYFSC will not be affiliated with a league and instead will play friendly matches weekly against all comers in the NY Tri-State area or teams that are willing to travel to play against them. NYFSC with the support of the USSF will be invited to play in national showcases. Tryout will begin in two weeks and continue throughout the summer as the coaching staff looks to form a team that fits the philosophy of the club.

* Travel will be limited to National and International Showcases
* Training will be handled by renowned soccer trainer Tom Byer who says
he has been looking for the ideal setting to establish his new soccer
program.

Who knows if this would fly, but this is how GDA should have started - smaller, younger, at least partly funded, then build as you prove yourself

Buy yeah, who is funding it? Seems too good to be true. I also question playing only friendly games because an unproven team will have a tough time attracting competition (who mostly have a jammed schedule). We also know parents love to claim their kid plays on a "Number 1 team!" or plays in a "top league"

This kind of thing is not unheard of. Usually wealthy family creates team for their kid to play with. I guess it could be great for the few players in the right location at the right age but does not sound like any kind of systematic improvement to the ills of competitive yourh soccer.

I heard they are doing a slow build and will add a team a year being funded by someone with an interest in creating a healthy soccer environment. Training will be either at Randall's Island or Baker Field ( Columbia) to allow greater access.
