Im actually more concerned about Barca leaving after doing some research than I was about LM babbling about his id and ego sources.
The JV is for 10 years, with an extension option for an additional 10 years. I cant imagine FCB is happy with just receiving 15% of the revenue from the soccer side. That is pocket change for them. Probably not worth the effort of keeping the NY branch happy. Maybe they see some tertiary benefit from sending coaches here to become more seasoned. But that's just a supposition. Even if true, what value do they place on that? Who knows.
I think it's reasonable to conclude that if FCB doesnt see some real progress on the Complex, they could terminate the JV and try again somewhere else. That's what, 6 or 7 years?
THAT is probably the real reason the existing JV Partners are searching for capital. If they dont show significant and meaningful progress on the Complex side, they will have lost all their sweat equity + whatever capital they have expended.

i think Barca will grow. some will be attracted to the name. We joined this year after a couple of blah years with a town team. My kid loves the kids on the team. we have done PDP and Red Bulls, this is the first time they tell me that the rest of the kids on the team are nice-- team players. The coaching so far has made a difference. we did a tourney last weekend. i finally saw the difference in the flesh. our team passed the ball around the other team like it was a rondo practice. the goalie played more like a sweeper as we played to them and let them redistribute. i watched the other teams really just punt and run. their only apparent plan was to punt it to their striker and hope for a breakaway.. after seeing this, it validated the reason we joined. say all you like, they are doing something alittle different. i saw it.
now if we could just get some uniforms alittle better organization..... they would be unstoppable....
and oh yeah susa sucks

Mental midget, I wrote both posts. You still don’t understand the difference? My use of the term sweat equity is correct. They have equity in the JV. Sheesh.
