New FC Barcelona Academy NY - the other one went off the rails
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWill you stop that nonsense already? Barca owns and runs the club. Prospect is the leaseholder for the facility and responsible for the construction. While there are deals between the two since Barca will use the fields and lend it's name to the facility if and when it is finished, the soccer end remains all Barca.

The other day I was looking at tournament brackets when I saw another Barca Academy. (Northern Virginia) I did a couple of quick clicks and I found this whole list of cities that have Barca Academies but no mention of Long Island. Why?
https://schools.fcbarcelona.us/
The site appears to be legit and connected to FCB in Spain but absolutely no info on Barca Academy Pro NY.
As a matter of fact, I searched the Barca Pro site and it looks dated and not as polished. A bit surprising considering it is “the first ever fully owned and operated FC Barcelona youth soccer academy in the United States.”

Now the China and NY locations are labeled as "Pro" fully owned and operated by FCB and the Escuelas are labeled Academies.
Not sure what the Barca DA in Arizona is labeled..it is something completely different.
I think the websites are all fabricated in spain which is the reason for crappy website (not up to NY standards for web design for sure). :)

Here is the updated Barca website describing it all.
https://barcaacademy.fcbarcelona.com/en/
And yes, they have renamed everything, a couple of times, in the last two years. I agree that it can be confusing. In short, the Pro academies are directly run by Barca. The Arizona live-in Residency Academy has Barca being heavily involved but they do not technically own it. The non-Pro Barca Academy's are more like franchises though there is still some direct involvement from Barca.

It feels like the anti-Barca campaign restarted today, a bunch of half truths, misinformed questions, incorrect responses, all of which are cloaked in sincerity; and all of which are designed to make Barca look bad.
Did this campaign actually ever work? Seems uninspired and tired. What kind of self respecting consultant or BD (business development) person would trigger this campaign again? Whatever club is paying you should re-think how they are spending their advertising dollars because in just a few posts we can all see it more of the same from last year; at least come up with something new (and asking the question differently than last year is not "something new").

Same thing can be said for the person or persons responsible for keeping the thread relevant every couple of days with an asinine comment to bump up the thread.

Or, do you get paid by the post? Am I helping you make money right now? I hope so, otherwise there is no excuse for such a dumb question.
