It all was and is pay to play pretend "mini pro" soccer for girls in all these leagues. Disappointing and not that special across the board. Sniping about this organization vs that organization just plays into the fake uber competitive nonsense that got us all where we are. What is needed is fundemental change starting with getting rid of most if the useless travel.

USSF was the organization that COULD have done it differently. But they chose to create their own mega league to try and squeeze out ECNL. I blame them far more for this mess than the other leagues.

US messed it up after, but yes these are the culprits. They are the ones who decided to restrict competition in their own backyards (to the benefit of themselves) and pitched it that "you have to travel 4 hours to find a game".

I know plenty of the families that left for STA, and most are miserable. It’s a disgrace what WCFC did by disbanding the NYCFC GDA, they had good teams, and all those girls loved the coaches and the program, none wanted to leave. The families that went to STA were all NJ residents, so going to a club like NYSC was not an option, mostly because they wanted their daughter’s to succeed....

OK, I will mark this as the most laughable comment on the board. So WCFC did 2 things. 1) they added their patch and the ECNL patch onto the NYCFC jerseys, and 2) They allowed players to play High School in the fall if they wanted to. Girls who did not want to play HS either played with boys teams, or they trained with the coaches. The coaches stayed the same, and the program stayed the same. The girls who stayed have attended more college showcases in the last 4 months than any of the girls who left, and only one girl who left has gotten what she was promised by the coaches at STA. Admit it, your daughter is one of those players who left for the bright lights of the GDA and now your upset because her former teammates are doing well and still love their club. Sometimes the grass isn't greener in NJ or Westchester

They proved that are just in it for the money like all the rest. Nothing special about them or their league. It is basically the exact same as the money grubbing ecnl without 10 weeks of high school. Who cares any more - the entire high level youth soccer game is totally exposed for what it is. It all is what it is and the only one that argue about which is superior are either fools or folks making a living form all this crap. Good luck all.

The only good thing about any of it at this point of it is the game of soccer and the players that love it.

LOL, no one was asking you to say who you were, but it is now obvious. I'm just laughing because I remember everything that went down towards the end of the season. FYI, our girls are much happier these days
