Also check out socalsoccer. So Cal Blues have some top teams in GDA and some top teams in ECNL. varies by age groups.

ahh, but here is the difference. neither will be in both next year. The big difference is with ECNL if its not your top team, you can't stay in that league. GDA is begging clubs to stay in, even if it's their worst team BYE BYE Real Colorado and FC Dallas

This is true and many of the clubs who dropped out last year for ECNL only were doing both as well. Other than the biggest of metro areas, it's going to be very difficult to run two quality teams per age group (mostly, some two years). There just isn't that much quality talent and if you're offering a good ECNL team many will take that because of the HS issue

Who is your source stating the GDA is begging clubs to stay in? Where does it state on the ECNL website that if your top team isn't in ECNL then you can't stay in the league?

and THIS year Real Colorado, FC Dallas, and Tophat were in both and had their top teams in GDA. Doesn't that make it clear to EVERYONE (as original poster states) that GDA is the better league? and yes ECNL told them they needed to put their top teams in ECNL so they told ECNL to take a hike for next year.

The other problem with the original troll post is that Socal Blues is working both sides to their own advantage. A couple Top teams GDA a few top teams ECNL resulting in them being one of the few (maybe the only?) clubs still able to do both.

and LAST year at least 8 clubs went back to ECNL (or 10?). So yeah, there's that. All the additions have been poor quality. So woot woot GDA got three to stay.

Ask the parents of the clubs that left about the invites to the NTC, and ask where are the call us to the training camps for those players.

Even topdrawersoccer coverage of GDA is about 3x as much as ECNL.

Both are resume builder items for a D1 player.

If those "resume builders" are only available in the gda, they are unfortunately weakened as resume builders. D1 coaches are not ignorant of this ridiculous league nonsense.

Ok, maybe 1-2% care about that. The rest don't and chose accordingly. As said above college coaches aren't fooled by it. They see who is playing in front of them at both venues. Playing GDA isn't essential for college soccer, not even for top college soccer. It isn't at all the same as with BDA, where it is the clear top league and being in BDA is a necessity for most top D1 programs.

If you watch carefully, 95% of D1 women’s soccer plays a certain style, and the ECNL is all about recreating that. Both from the style of play, and the embrace of all things H.S. sports related, basically the glory that is high school sports, as It’s very much the same exact thing in college. In the college playoffs, there are 2-3 schools that play the traditional DA style. All the others are aggressive, over-the-top, and long-ball power runs to the outside and cross to the middle for a header by the tall aggressive chick.

What ages? It matters. And unless you have seen all the teams play AND play each other it's impossible to really say. I'm sure you're an expert, right?

Slammers had two finalists in GDA last year and one was the national champion.
