available to you needs to be clarified. I have no idea what you consider available. I believe any ECNL player at WCFC could have quit HS, trained independently one or two days a week and replicated exactly what GDA offered. Nothing unique about it

One of those games JD didn't play in. The GK doesn't determine the entire game. It's tough to beat a team when you have 4 shots on goal to their 7. In fact, vs GER, JD had twice the number of saves the GER GK.

And in the FRA game, the one JD didn't play in, the US had 3 saves to FRA 0 saves. And we had 2 shots on goal to their 5. The 3rd point for FRA was an own goal on our part. Tough for a GK to defend against own goals.

i dont get it. its not like people dont know who the YNT gks are. I guess some of us dont really see it as meaning as much as you. Mark Carr's reward for his failure with the U17s is to now get the U20s. SHOCK, he continues to pick the same players. Now, wither these players are head and shoulderrs abouve the rest we have or they are not looking ahrd enough.

the former is a sad indictment of our system given the results, the latter is a sad reflection on the use of funds and resources. If the USSF removed 2 camps from each age group per year, i wonder how many real scouts they could hire? I wonder how many more players they could evaluate properly? I wonder if they could actually hire some decent coaches? or are we stuck with BJ Snow and his acolytes forever?

i think you miss the point. JD is a good GK. we know this. I also know there are quite a few kids at that level who could get looks that dont. I also know that the results of late dont justify the lack of turnover in rosters, even if you think this may be the best group, you have to give other kids a chance to prove you wrong.

instead of trying to make it all about one player, why dont you look at the bigger picture ?

Not sure why anyone wouldn’t want to support any player from our area who is invited to any YNT events. We have 4 or 5 girls from our area who are very active on the recent rosters. Like it or not, they are the best we have in this area. Just because your kid isn’t getting noticed, does not take away from the fact that they are the best. JD, JS, SK and BS are the best we have. Period. end of Story. And no, not one is my kid, but I’d like to believe some of them are better because they play with my daughter 😂

Was speaking on our club's behalf. 4 sessions/week, and improved methods and reporting than before. Winter covered training, futsal, and strength training.

What I am finding almost comical after this weekend is that players who are getting moved down off of really bad ECNL teams, are now finding spots on GDA teams. That tells you the pecking order of leagues in our area.

you already know the answer and you know they will continue to get away with it. who cares at this point. people know this club is all smoke and mirrors. those that continue to put money in that man's pocket do so for whatever their reasoning is. let the koolaide drinkers go down with the ship.

i dont agree that they are the best we have. and i also think that automatic matriculation from u17 to u20 should be pretty hard to do. judging by the rosters, its not.

I support a system that is designed to really ID players. One that is merit based. I dont support the current one which seems to reward failure.

In your perfect world, how would players be chosen? I do understand that some players are picked because who they know, but in the cases of the girls the OP listed, I believe they have all worked pretty hard to get their calls. You can't tell me that JD's wing span and her athletic ability can be compared to many in NY

what does NY have to do with a National team? who said they have not worked hard?

1. No kid at YNT level deserves repeated call ups until we are say 6 months away from an event. its supposed to be about discovery.

2. If you play in events and do not perform. Take a seat. Lets see some other candidates. There are many kids NATIONALLY who deserve/have earned a chance. Even if it leads to failure

3. There are several kids from this area who excelled in College as freshmen. Why dont they get a chance?

the system is understaffed basis the size of the country. these coaches are stale and need to be replaced. New player need to be given a chance to perform in these games.

they are the best out of the families who can afford the paths they have taken to get where they are. they are good, but not the best the area has to offer.
