If Kaz is smart he will offer his best players their spots on the ECNL teams early and get them locked in. The last thing he will care about is getting them out to California. He’ll probably roster them to his ECNL teams early and them go out to SanDiego with those teams, so they don’t miss the recruiting opportunity And by the way, he’s smart

Honestly, that is the way these teams should be, at least when it comes to initial rostering -- it shouldn't basically be a walk-on. The best players should make the squad regardless of where they are now.

Loyalty goes along way in the soccer world. If Ron Alber was not well connected with the other ECNL guys there is zero chance of SUSA in. Friendships and loyalty go a long way.

There is going to be a ton of unhappy WC/NYCFC parents come the end of try-outs. There's no way all of those players are going to be on the A team (there's always an A team). So all that loyalty these parents keep spouting is going to look so different several months from now. I just hope the clubs gives you all enough time to make other try-outs should your players circumstances change. I heard Fury was already making phone calls to some of the players they lost.

The question is who makes the final decisions on rosters. WCFC considers the GDA girls part of the family, and apart from some moronic parents on both sides, the families are very cordial to each other. Some families have kids in both programs, and its not as cut-throat as some have suggested. If WCFC allow all the players to fairly compete for a spot, the best players will be on the, as you call it, A-team. However, all the coaches at the complex are quality, and in their minds there is no A/B/C teams. Pick a coach if you can, because that is what is most important, not the patch, but the competitive batch...
