Oh yeah, college coaches just LOVE over-involved parents!

I’ve spoken to her future coach once, and that was to say hello, it’s all her, she will be back playing for our country also, not easy to do both.

Let’s see, you say your daughter is just about off to college, meaning she is a senior, but then reference the U17 coach having thoughts on where she should play. I’m gonna put my Sherlock Holmes hat on and say you’re a big liar. There is one kid in the NY area that Mike Carr has an interest in and is leaving for college soon, and your kid is not her. If you were those parents, you also would have spoken to her college coach more than once too because she is very involved in her players and their parents. Go back to your GDA hole troll and let the adults get back to this mess that USSF has made

If Mark Carr had any sense, he would take the absolute best players regardless of where they played, including rec soccer. To choose loyalists paying the crown shows what a farce US Soccer is. A tit for tat .... pay us $ and we will punch your ticket .... what a joke!! PS - Your ride is not over, but, by electing GDA for the past 2 years, your daughter gave up all of the memories she could have had at her hs, including working toward leading them to a state championship. Now, she and the rest of the lemmings will just get in the NCAA line and hope you can find another magic pill to get her moved up in line. Would be terribly ironic if she goes to college and does not play much (or at all) and you are stuck holding that basket of eggs. The path I think is a better path includes being well-rounded and has soccer at a secondary, tertiary, quaternary (or lower) level to things that will actually matter for her in 4 short years when soccer is done.

Typical TS troll. Anyone that constantly comments negatively on GDA, and isn't actually involved themselves, is trollpublican...

Why NYCFC guy is so smug and adamant that his way is the only and best way (and that she could not have achieved whatever she did without it) ..... F&^% him and his kid ..... he has no idea how much he sold her for yet, but I bet in 4 years or so, he may have an eye opening moment and I wonder if he will think it was worth it then. If your kid is NOT on a USNT, then GDA is most likely not the best choice (unless your house is within a mile or so of their training centre). If she is truly a player, the path is less important than homer thinks but he can't see it (which is just the way US Soccer wants it ..... checks are due at the end of the month suckers).

NE GDA is absolute garbage ..... their own records in showcases is proof positive, why can't you see it. On top of that, it also watered down NE ECNL. Wasn't enough to make 1 bad league, so they made two .... UNPRECEDENTED!

Mark Carr only wants to prop up GDA. He's also not interested in YOUR kid

not only that but if your only GDA option is some of the sh-ite clubs around here a NT level player may be better off elsewhere.

nice rant, but please show me the GDA exclusive YNTs? The most recent u20 team contained several non GDA players.

Stop trying to define what is important for others and focus on yourself and your family. All the HS stuff that you value may not be important to others.

is the focus is "when soccer is over" then why play at all ? Just study and go to a grat school. heck why not forgo club soccer and get a job.

We all value different things. Why do you care so much about others choices? i wish people would jsut talk about their own experiences without the agendas. Neither the ECNL or the GDA makes players. Players do the work. the influences that build character, values, work ethic even soccer "smarts' are not confined to Club or HS. A lot of it goes on in the home, a product of who they are surrounded by.

Leagues and Clubs trying to oversell their importance should be taken with a pinch of salt.

all these leagues are a capable of producing excellent players. the issue is why do so few emerge and for me there is one main reason

Uneducated parents who have no frame of reference against which to make good decisions
