So, again, because she plays soccer she HAS to play it for the HS team to make memories? She's a brilliant math student...does she have to be part of the Math club? She rides horses, and we have an equestrian program? Does she HAVE to do that? Swim? Ski? Let the kids play where they want, and as parents support them but step aside is my suggestion.

I don't complain about what others do with their kids. To each their own. But, when someone makes an all-encompassing statement, I'll ensure to shoot it down.

    Every time.

And, I won't even do it with an insult...
Yeah you'r so smart. But hav no idea your husband is banging his secretary.

The tax argument takes the cake on the most stupid I've heard from the anti-GDA crowd. But, I have faith in due time, one of ya' will find a way to top it.
What kid wants to and can't? I am fine to fund drama for drama kids, debate for debate kids, etc. within reason. District also funds sports for the sports kids and orchestra for the violin kids. What am I missing?

You mean they can't because the rule from the gda forbids it? That has nothing at all to do with the school.

        OK then....

Whelp, I can see we've drifted into doubling-down on the insults. Nothing else to add?

Does your HS make cuts to any of these activities? How many leads are their in the school play? How big is your soccer roster?

Those kids "pay" for those activities but can't use them.

There are a ton of activities funded by the schools and if a kid want to get involved in something, they can. Perhaps not always their first choice. Not everyone gets a lead role or a varsity spot on the basketball team, but there is so much available.

I gave my opinion that families resent being excluded from school activities they fund by an outside organization. Plenty of families also seem fine with it and have decided to play gda and not participate in school soccer. My

Yes everyone has an opinion. Have respect for theirs and in turn they should also respect yours. Then we can move on.

Still at this absurd argument I see. Taxes and budgets can't be selected ala carte. It doesn't work that way. You're paying for a complete education and experience for all students, not just yours. Schools have plenty of activities for students to take advantage of should they chose to. No they may not always get what they want. Life sometimes works that way and learning how to deal with disappointments is a part of growing up. Don't make varsity basketball - work harder so you do next year. Don't get the play lead but a good role - make the most of it so you might get the lead next time. There's plenty of kids who don't do ANY - they have jobs or activities they do outside of the school environment, or they just aren't that kind of kid. Should they get a tax discount because of that?

US Soccer handed out badges like candy at Halloween. There just wasn't the player pool or interest to fill rosters on so many teams. The clubs they gave badges to weren't good ones, pretty bad actually. Next year it will be down to one club, as it should have been from the get go. LISC isn't the greatest either, they definitely had a very rocky start, but they've taken steps to improve. If NE GDA survives they should too.

Please show me where the respect has been granted toward a player who doesn't want to play HS and thinks GDA is their best path forward.

Do it without telling me my spouse is poking the secretary....

Well, the person who gets his panties knotted up whenever something positive about GDA is posted apparently does.

                          LISC is terrible.

This argument is silly. There is a loophole to HS soccer and everyone knows it. Fury players knew it, listened to their infamous DOC and made their choice. If you want to play HS ball, play. If you want club ball, play. If you want both, know your options, understand your players capabilities and find a club that accommodates your family.

I will give respect for a player who didn't play for a top HS program even though they could realistically make that team. Not a player who stayed at the GDA path because either they wouldn't have made their HS's varsity squad. Or that their private school team was beneath them. Don' t give us the GDA drivel otherwise.
