Alby should be gone, never should have been in. But Fury is certainly strong enough to remain. USSF considered booting a cellar dweller FL club but now have let them stay so I don't see how they can justify getting rid of Fury. Plus USSF is in desperation mode to keep GDA going and not lose more market share. Unless a club is truly terrible or a club decides to leave on their own, their spot is safe for this year.

I thought they weren't "affiliated". What a joke. Everyone know PR is in bed with the DA. They aren't going anywhere.

How can US Soccer allow Albertson to stay in the GDA? It’s embarrassing for those girls, their parents, their opponents, their opponents parents, the Refs and the trainers to have to bear witness to those games. Their coaches know they shouldn’t be there. The only one who thinks they should be in that league is PR. more money, more money

you act like there are standards. There are none UNTIL the leagues have enough teams/clubs. The floor is determined by numbers NOT quality. This is what you get when the commercial and playing side do not align. Clubs can make money with a product that develops no one.

Until commercial success is a function of quality NOTHING will change.

GDA is desperate, particularly in the NE with NYCFC now also leaving after this year. The new additions of NPL teams is just lowering the competitiveness of the league itself in this region.

Albertson parents, can someone please explain what they are selling you to keep putting your kids through this misery week after week? Get your kid on a NYCSL team where she can be successful and get her confidence back.

Weird, ex-NPL teams seems to be doing well in both GDA and ECNL

“ technically” Fc Albertson fury and fc fury are both seperate clubs from each other and also ASC. They are seperate entities.
However, Under tax law, the IRS would attempt to tax them as affiliated entities. Not sure they would win though.

Has there been any word on the HS rule changes?

It's my understanding they are doubling-down on the no-HS rule. Appears to be the position is "why are you pushing for something which has zero soccer benefit to the player?". That's all they are concerned about.

Want the social aspect? Try out for the spirit team.

GDA players that want to play HS just join the GDA team after HS is over. Other leagues dont have league play during HS season so HS play is also not an issue.. HS does not necessarily have to be the driver of what decision is best for any particular player.

I agree it's the driver, but it's the #1 reason listed as to why someone shouldn't join GDA.

Some try to point to the lower teams, but there are terrible teams in all leagues. A quick walk through the ECNL standings will tell you that.

To do it a player may be disrespecting the spirit of the rules but not the letter of the rules. However - this is youth soccer and most if not all of the clubs have engaged in disrespectful and corrupt actions. If the clubs and leagues want respect from the players, they have to earn it. Would love to seethe players respected in the youth soccer world, but so far we are all still waiting for the most part.so far I am not holding my breath.

Almost 100 top D1 college coaches came to watch my 04 daughter play in Colorado in 3 games

The coaches believe there is top talent in the DA

HS is for fun. A Social event for most. Nothing wrong with it

The more serious players ( for the most part) will love the da

The poster was not commenting on the strength or weakness of the league or insulting your little superstar as hundreds of top d1 coaches vie for her services. Poster was merely commenting that gda players that also want to play HS do so by joining the league after HS season ends
