I took a look out of curiosity to see how local teams are doing. Why are several NE teams playing each other out there? Its insane to go all that way to play local teams. The whole point is to play teams you wouldn't normally http://www.ussoccerda.com/sam/standi...partialGames=1

Out of curiosity, do you know a difference between league games and showcase games?

NE Division is weak. And, PA is not in the NE, the are in the Eastern Division. NE goes to NY no farther south. So NJ and below to and including VA are East; NC and beyond are Southeast.

It’s not as weak as you think. Nefc is putting up W’s

that is true they have 2W and 1T - but otherwise the only non losses are Alby, Fury, LISC and Seacoast with one tie each, OW one win. Not surprisingly some of the games have been blowouts

We have been at this now for some time, 6 years with my child, so why are the other regions better than us? While I do think some girls are just monsters, I think its coaching quality and style. Other clubs have better coaches, end of discussion, and thanks!

If I got this right, thus far the NE plus LISC (9 clubs) is 5-5-31 in CO

No it’s the fact that you have 3 GDA’s on LI alone. Throw in 2 ECNL clubs and a bunch of NL clubs and all you have is a bunch of very average teams. US soccer under valued the importance of HS soccer with girls and tried to fit them into the boys model. If that had not been in the original setup, GDA would have quickly become the destination league for the top quality girls players. ECNL and NL clubs are now using that against GDA clubs. It is very obvious that GDA was not well thought out

No doubt that is true - NE GDA is a hot mess and for the most part GDA overall is struggling However, SoCal, TX, CO etc have always dominated the national soccer stage. This area would have a few good teams and some top D1 recruits but it's not really a soccer hotbed.

                      It’s parents:
                      - prefer high school glory
                      - focus on wins and not on development
                      - are ok when kids just scrimmage rather than learn skills
                      - favor athleticism over tech skills

That happens plenty all over the country. Out west there are better clubs, more of a soccer culture and being able to play 365 days a year no doubt helps too. That's why clubs out west have dominated for so long well before GDA came along and well before the HS ban

importance of HS soccer is very misleading. they undervalue its social popularity. They over estimate the size of that talented committed player pool. they overvalue the attraction/ benefits of increased commitment to soccer.

GDA will never be the destination as long as Clubs make the decisions on who they select. Any team that professes to be elite mus t have selections based on talent. None do.

How do you get to the point where the players can learn to successfully execute more complex high level play without a coach and team capable of learning and executing more complex high level play?

Look at the top College teams. are they dominated by Socal kids? Sure Stanford, UCLA, USC, Santa Clara are good, but they are not consistently better than UNC, Duke, UVA, PSU.

People place a lot of importance on results for some reason long before they matter. Club soccer games are won by the deepest teams. usually its about players 4-10 not 1-3
