SUSA To Announce Acceptance Into ECNL

Anyone notice that Albertson put up a post on their website referencing the All-In page on ECNL and the list of All-In clubs?

If the scenario described is true and this is all a charade to avoid mass defection and people quitting mid-season, then Albertson is lower than low to lead people on. It's one thing to not update the tryout schedules (keeping them labeled ECNL NPL Premier), but it's another thing to blatantly lead people on to think they will be part of ECNL for 2018-2019.

Albertson should just accept what they are if they lost girls ECNL. But I know they didn't deal with this honestly when they lost Boys DA either.

What happens to the girls who make their ECNL team and it gets pulled? EM and Susa will have filled their rosters already. Where will these girls go? LISC?

Anyone who has plans for Albertson ECNL (or NE NPL for that matter) next year should have ALTERNATIVE teams lined up. Go to other tryouts, as you will end up with a bait and switch if ECNL is revoked. You have been warned.

With ECNL, not many clubs have not been renewed. Those that were not were notified about one month before the conclusion of the season end. This does pose a problem for the kids who tryout. Clubs all handle it differently. Some will be honest and tell the kids and parents where others will hide it to keep as many players in the pipeline as possible. We will see how this goes.

2- Burying the announcement with 2 other clubs as-"3 more member clubs 'All-In' for 2018/19 season" as opposed to "The Girls ECNL welcomes (club ABC) as a new member for the 2018/19 season"

I work in PR and can tell you, that's not a coincidence, ECNL was downplaying the Susa acceptance.

2- Burying the announcement with 2 other clubs as-"3 more member clubs 'All-In' for 2018/19 season" as opposed to "The Girls ECNL welcomes (club ABC) as a new member for the 2018/19 season"

They did post the ECNL ALL IN and referenced themselves as being one of the clubs listed. So they are definitely implying it is business as usual.

Politics are definitely a part of this. ECNL is carefully controlling the messaging and Alby would collapse if it was formally announced right now. They do not want any messages about clubs leaving to be used as fodder for indicating that GDA was chosen.

They didn’t bury anything. They announced them all as new member clubs and refered to them all as all-in which simply means they aren’t also doing DA. You are reading way too far into it.

Well I do work in PR, so it may be an occupational hazard. But from my perspective when every other new club got its own singular announcement welcoming them as a new member and Susa gets bundled with 2 other clubs as an "all in" club, it feels like it's intentional. No biggie, it just makes sense that if Paul Riley knows Albertson is out, he wouldn't hesitate to ask "hey, can you keep the Susa thing kind of quiet as long as possible so we don't have mass defections over Winter or mid-season?". I mean Albertson was a founding member of ECNL, so these guys go back a ways.

No mention perhaps but consider this ...Just about all the ECNL girls sides fielded boys teams

Vice versa at least in NE, no boy side doesn't have a girls ECNL side

That would imply that Albertsons loses boys and SUSA gains boys

There is nothing that indicates that SUSA has been granted Boy's ECNL at this point.
