    Why was it unnecessary?

Not the OP but I agree (although maybe not for the same reasons as the OP). Kids at the travel level enjoy playing with their friends and classmates. There is a much stronger social component to town soccer that doesn't exist at the club level where kids come from all over - they don't seen each other in the school hallway, commiserate over the same teachers etc. Travel is where many younger players first get their start towards more "serious" soccer - knowing a few friends can entice a hesitant player to try it. And it's also where many decide to remain because they're not interested in more serious soccer - this isn't they type of player who is NT material or hoping for a D1 scholarship. Anyway, to me there was no need to break up teams, split grades etc. at that level all for the benefit of the very top players in this country.

        Wait, what's wrong with that?

Totally disagree. My daughter hit it off with players from all different districts/locations because they all share this serious passion for soccer and have fun while playing. She actually is better friends with her soccer buddies. Likes her classmates but relates more to her teammates that share a real commitment and love of game. For her, the club players Provide more of a social connection than her town team did. All depends on player I guess.

My comments were about travel kids and why the age change shouldn't have been applied there. Club kids chose club for their reasons, travel for theirs. And yes it absolutely does vary by player and team and club

Well first of all why do you think its appropriate for a parent to run across the field and yell in my face that her son was owed 3 more minutes of playing time? she embarrassed herself and yelled in front of 7 yr olds. Because of HER actions I had to explain to my son why a lady was screaming at me? No that's not acceptable! like I said if any parents have any issues with any coached they should wait 24 hrs then contact them. And I think it was crazy of the women to literally time her son's playing time on the field. It was our first game! She was out of line.

You don't really think that's normal behavior do you?

                1) Timing play to the minute - for an 8 year old? Wrong
                2) Yelling at a coach in front of a team of 8 year olds? Very, very wrong
                3) Just "talking" with a coach about PT immediately following game? Should be delayed for a private conversation when coach isn't distracted and parent is calm
                4) Worrying about PT one game into the season? Over the top, by a mile

So anyone tapping away from their iPhones should use emoticons. Don't know about the Androids.

Or at least use :-). Or LOL. We cannot be old, out-of-touch parents. We can't be our parents! lol 😂🤓😏
