There seems to be some chatter that WC and EM may pass on the GDA, at least the for 2017-2018 season and just keep their ECNL teams. Or that some other entities are involved to not have both in the same club. ECNL is pressuring clubs to choose one or the other, that seems to be consistent across many clubs and states.

Anyone have any insight into this?

When will this announcement come? This week?

Many clubs are in process of having ID sessions/evaluations already.
I think it would be in the best interest for clubs to be transparent at this time, so top level players have enough information and time to make a proper decision.

That would require

1) clubs to have a clue themselves, which considering USSF just sprung the U14/U15 split on them may be asking too much

2) clubs to be forthright with customers, which, considering they often weren't in the past why would you expect them to be now?

How do you define happy? Does that mean they are or are not planning to do GDA for 2017-2018?

WC will definitely keep the DA KT is very tied into the USSF.EM is the kind of club - average to below average ECNL that may keep the ECNL like Match Fit did. Penn Fusion, PA Classics and Wash Spirit all have announced ID days. I think the USSF says no formal "tryouts" so they couch a tryout in an "ID clinic"

Looks like the new GDA on Long Island called Long Island SC. It's now changed on USSDA website and so have the division's changed. Says based out of Plainview. Rough Riders must be involved. Not sure if EM still involved, but probably are, by evidence of some Larry bashing.
Again that guy loses. Surf or Susa not getting either ECNL or GDA makes him look like a hack. And there is no way either federation adds another team to Long Island.

Is this EM's GDA slot?

To the original topic, if you have NT aspirations, GDA probably makes the most sense simply because of the theoretical visibility advantage. But if looking for more competition, more games, more college coaches eyeballs on you and you still want to play HS ball, then ECNL will remain king for the foreseeable future.

It will be just fine because most girls playing soccer fit that later description. DA is for the top 5%
