So Larry's been muzzled and the Surf cheerleaders have moved here?
Good luck to you. I think the criticism is more than fair since they paid Larry to intimate and outright predict they were going to get GDA. Without that those teams probably never move there and we know how the homegrown teams are doing.
Just shut down the talk and prove it on the pitch. That's how you will earn respect, not by the approach taken up until now hiring LM as a paid spokesperson.
It will take a few years but you may (or may not) get there. I have no skin in that game but I wish you luck.

For anyone who decided to pass this year and wait to see how this or other homegrown Surf NY teams, this isn't a good start and a good sell for next year's team. Hopefully the team does improve, although W-L and GF/GA records aren't the only measurement of improvement. They are just the most visible.
As a parent I wonder how Surf NY is massaging their rhetoric with this team. Surf NY held tryouts and claimed they were drawing the best talent. A 13 year old makes the team and thinks "Hey I must be pretty good." The kid and the parents drank the Surf NY koolaid and expected their kid would be on a team of top notch talent. Then the team starts losing games and hasn't scored yet. You can grant some leeway of gel-ing with top players, but a talent-loaded team should be able to score and not get blown out.
The players are the ones who are going to suffer the most. They had no control over team player selection or the league and level they would play in. These are probably good, well-intentioned, and well-meaning girls. It sucks to see a young person placed in a situation like this.
People need to speak up and out on behalf of those who are not in a position to do so. The adults need to speak on behalf of the kids.

Please stop your inferring and pretending to know about our team's dynamic here - we are fine and have an amazing coach and DOC connection. After our out of the gate bad loss, we realized the gap we have had being new and have been working hard to fill the gap. We will play them again so we hope to have a better showing. Its all about progress and growth and my daughter and her teammates are not only getting better but are building amazing character along the way.

Not sure why that is but it's not because this crew produces results. won/loss record across the board is terrible and they must thank god every week for the mercy rules. Kids will get better of course, but placing them in division where they are forcefully overmatched just doesn't make sense and suggests the admins at the club lack some common sense.

You are assuming the club has an unlimited budget or can charge the fees needed to cover these expenses. if I were them I would continue to focus on the girls side for now.

No offense, but your kid's team won the bottom bracket at Discovey Cup against lower level A&B teams. I fully expected this age group's team to be at WAGS playing in a higher bracket against the likes of OP and HMMS. That is the point of being on Surf NY, yes? To compete at the upper echelons of youth soccer? To compete against the likes of WC and PDA?

NY Surf G02 LI beat SUSA Elite G2002 6-0 today in EDP play...looks to be a very strong team out of the gate in their first game together...
