It's a nice story and acknowledges what we suspected but let's be careful with the personally identifiable information.

I have to admit I don't get identifying a player by club/jersey # after a certain age anymore. Got Soccer and ECNL have rosters with all identifying information and anyone can look it up. TDS, Soccerwire, and Big Apple name players and often include a picture. Parents are happy to see their kids name in a newspaper announcing little Lionel scored x amount of goals in a win over so-and-so. I'd like to compliment an opposing player online if I can't say something in person. And I'd like to warn other peeps about nasty players trying to break my kids ankles.
It's 2016. This board has shown folks can look up anything these days on the Internet. And I'd like to think we are different and can be civil about what we post.

Those sites are not anonymous chat forums. Identify your own child if you must but know that the comments will eventually turn ugly 100% of the time.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for the Surf parents. Sounds life Surf parents were sold a Mercedes and right now have received an AMC Pacer.
Today's Larry gem: "Surf never applied to ECNL."
Past Larry posts:
April 8: "As far as ECNL and USSDA goes I do not have any further information on how or if it is in the cards, other to say that those logos would not be there if SD didn't approve, so take it where you wsant, but as of this writing you know all I know and all I can say to you with certainty."
April 8, replying to post about Surf getting ECNL and DA status: "I am not in a position to discuss this aspect of NY Surf FC....you will have to be patient and read between the lines for now."
Not worth going through Larry's BS to find other ECNL references.

Hope your kid is getting good training.

LM is now saying Surf will apply for ECNL.
The stated ECNL criteria are the following:
Club’s Player Development Guidelines.
Club’s History of Youth Player Development.
Club’s History of Success in Elite Competitions, Tournaments and Leagues.
Club’s Philosophy.
Club’s Technical Staff (including quality of Coaching Staff).
Overall Club Infrastructure.
The ECNL application itself has more interesting information, like an annual 4K membership fee.

I'm not seeing how Surf can answer some questions adequately to be considered for ECNL.

I'm surprised PDA Florida hasn't tried for ECNL.
