Example of why Larry at BOTN sucks - ISA

ISA has this idea where they want town clubs to voluntarily send off their best players to ISA. They are dressing it up a bit by talking about it being a vertical competition models instead of a horizontal competition model and so on but in essence this is a move that is for the benefit of ISA. Instead of their having to advertise and otherwise work to lure town players to their program (and have to compete with other organizations like them trying to do the same thing) they would instead have town clubs become de-facto minor league affiliates to ISA. I can't imagine that there is any actual benefit to the town clubs for doing so since it means not only losing players from their programs but losing their best players making them even less competitive than they already are.

I've tried making a couple of posts now pointing out what they are really trying to do but with ISA being a big sponsor of BOTN Larry hasn't allowed any of those posts to be published. He is only allowing posts through that praise ISA's plan.

You would do the same if your big advertiser was about to be maligned on your site. It is a business and you service your customers. I guess that is what ISA is paying for.

Anyone that has read BOTN for a short while gets how it works. Everything on all these forums is to be taken with a grain of salt and is often for entertainment purposes only.

Botn is so obviously biased and I am on a club where we advertise. I take no pride in that. In fact I find it uncomfortable when the botn topic comes up in talking with friends on other clubs. We all know that ideally the boys or girls want to be at Albertson for academy or ECNL (or EM) when they are of age. My daughter is too young and we live in Suffolk so when she is of age and eligible for ECNL, we most likely will have her tryout. I know there are rumors that Paul Riley is moving Albertson out east to Suffolk. That would be great. But, this obvious botn bias really makes the website unreadable. I do check in once or twice a week. Someone recently told me about this website. It seems to be more honest and certainly more cordial.

Yikes! More cordial it is not! (Spend a little time on the other states' forums, particularly Massachusetts!). It is WAY more juvenile. That said, there are nuggets of information and entertainment that make it worthwhile.

But why is everything about Long Island soccer? Aren't other parts of NY soccer mad? I'm on this forum because we do live in NY, though my child plays for a club in another state. I would *love* to hear more about soccer clubs north of Long Island!!

They are soccer clubs. Check them out and pick a good fit for your player and go about your business.

I do find it amusing that the Big BOTN ISA pow wow post mentioned nothing about money or parents. Those two factors influence more about the current soccer landscape than anything else.

Wait to Larry goes to stuff his face. Hopefully one of the other moderators lets it go through

Larry is in bed with ISA
