The latest rumor was that Team 91 Lacrosse was getting the fields but was going to share them with SYSL as well as having LIJSL itself somewhat involved in the deal but as of yet no lease has been signed with the Sachem BOE. I wonder how close to June they are going to come before setting this.

They are applying for GDA but he changed his tune to ECNL from being 100% in for GDA to I am committed to ECNL. He must have got wind that USSF is not happy with how boys are doing and he is not guaranteed a GDA spot.

As far as ECNL, I don't think he is on "solid ground" there either. With the impending start of the GDA, combined with potentially losing USSF, he will have a hard time keeping ECNL teams in line as well.
It is very hard to run a high level competitive program as an absentee manager.

The winning bid was Team 91 lacrosse but both SYSL and LIJSL are in too as part of the deal. It will be interesting seeing all of those conflicting interests sharing one set of fields.
SYSL has even renamed the fields to be called "SYSL Soccer Park" and "Sachem Soccer Park" on their web-site and tournament ad's. So maybe that once a year mandatory soccer park game in plainview for the older age groups might be played here instead? Or maybe even the LI Cup finals?

Odd that this lease wasn't included in the budget that just passed. Also odd that the for sale/lease sign is still up on the fields. Perhaps it's not going to happen after all?

Still no lease. I'm kind of curious how SYSL is allowed to continue using the fields when they have no contract to do so.

Team 91 pulled out and SYSL/LIJSL can't afford the fields without them. The old lease expired and the new one was never signed so SYSL is using the fields without a legal contract to do so. That is putting the club, the league and the school district in a terrible legal position. Anyone who gets injured on those fields this month are going to have a field day suing everyone. Hopefully the new board addresses this situation immediately before the district has to spend millions defending, and losing, the inevitable lawsuits from parents of injured athletes.
