    Stony Brook Womens Soccer Coach?

Does anyone know the story behind why Sue Ryan was "relieved of her duties" ? It seems odd that after such a long tenor as coach, she wouldn't have been allowed to simply resign.

Also, anyone have any details on who might be the new coaching candidates?

Word on the street was that they gave her the choice to resign, which she refused, so they "relieved her of her duties". She will still get paid as a professor. To be fair, she didn't exactly light it up with success given that Long Island is a hot bed for soccer, they are fully funded, and she was the head of ODP for Region I for years and years. Nice enough lady, but AD is fair to look for new direction.

I'm sure they will get a host of applications. Mid-Major DI head coaches, Asst coaches at big DI programs, maybe a powerhouse DII head coach.

Iona job open as well, but don't think it is nearly as well funded.

Have no issue with them letting her go. Just surprised it was fine in such a negative way. I guess that is just the new world we live in.

Hahahaha. Thanks for the chuckles. I find it hard to believe a program as terrible as Iona is, would talk trash to anyone. Has to be someone just stirring the pot. But help is on the way. They just hired a new coach. LoL. What a hire this one is. Might be the worst hire in recent memory unless she was the only one who applied.
