Is recruiting for Men in college compared to Women

Our HS has always had about 5 or 6 boys who seem more dedicated to soccer than any other athlete in the school. When it comes to getting into a college program most of them just don't meet the local expectations, and wind up at the club level or not playing at all. On the girls team, they too have a handful of ultras who consistently make their college's roster and actually play. Why is this?

Mens college soccer puts the top club players competing with top/washout players from academies around the world, who are better than any club-level players. There are no such pro academies filtering women into US college programs.

Clearly you don’t know womens soccer. Plenty of top academy players from Europe come to the US to play soccer in college.

So then what's your explanation for why it's easier for girl club soccer players to play D1 as opposed to boys?
