New club acceptance into MLS next were announced today and DUSC will be the newest addition. Besides their teams being very weak, that now makes 8 MLS next clubs all withing spitting distance of each other in the city. MLS next is getting severely watered down as they all compete for each other's bottom players

Mls next claims it is trying to expand. If it really wanted to expand it would have given it to a long island club and not to an already flooded nyc market. And to a weak club at that, that just has nice fields and A licensed coaches

The problem is the board that votes on who gets mls next status is all current mls next teams. It's a corrupt rigged system. So do you really think gotchee, met oval, nycfc etc are going to vote for a club in central LI to get mls next status. No. All these clubs would lose many many of their players because of the travel alone. And that LI club would probably almost immediately become the strongest NY mls next club. So instead they all make deals with each other and squeeze 8 mls next academies all within 10 miles of each other.

All the NY mls next academies are all feeder clubs to nycfc since they are the only true pathway to pro. They all have to adopt nycfc coaching practices and style. So ultimately nycfc has the last say.
