I said their would be few exceptions and your DD falls in that category. CoVid certainly played a part in recruitment but returning to norm will mean a return to norm for recruitment. A few questions and please be honest.

    1. What is your daughter’s education background? Private school, 4.0 or higher GPA, etc?

    2. How hard did she work to get her offer communication? Did she go above and beyond?

    3. What role did her coach play?

    4. Did she have her offer before the Pandemic?

    5. I would ask position bit that would single her out. Just want to say that a goaltender is a much different situation then field players.

I don’t care about some of these other posters. I really don’t care if they play for PDA or Matchfit. I am partial to PDA since I am VERY familiar with the program and its coaches. I am just trying to get these parents to see the big picture and not get caught up with a ranking vs. another competing Club. It might be fun as a Soccer Dad but things can change very quickly in teams at U14 and under.
All of the offers for power 5 are public. There isn't a single one from PDA white. Not sure what this person is talking about.

The initial post is very accurate in it synopsis of the landscape of youth soccer not only in this area but throughout the country. It lays it out quite well the real truth from the youngest ages thru getting committed to playing in college. I could see how #5 will especially inflame the PDA haters because it ruins their false narrative about the club and the influence they have with ECNL, US Soccer and colleges across the country. This post is highly reflective of not only the physical toll on these kids to succeed but the mental aspects as well that coaches look for in players. That is all part of the prototypical players coaches are looking for in P5 as well as the other top teams in college, USWNT, and professionally. Being mentally tough to not only train, play at a very high level as well as maintain a high GPA is extremely difficult. It takes a special student/athlete. Parents on TS would not comprehend that unless your daughter is currently playing at that high level. That’s what competitive sports is truly about. This initial post reflects those aspects from when players get identified at an early age till they commit. Club coaches rank there players and know which ones will be there core player (s) early on. Same with colleges they rank players from every major club as well. There is a method to competitive sports that parents are very naive about I recommend you re-read the initial post and think about it for yourself and your own situation.

Also, #3 is the most important. After the US Camp & top XI get chosen, then there is almost a bigger focus on grades. College girls soccer does not make the schools money so having a strong academic student will almost always get chosen over slightly better player with lower grades. Correct me if I’m wrong but this what we have been told over and over.
You are correct. College Education is more important then college D1 soccer. Don’t believe the scammers at PDA. They will tell you lies all day and night.

Actually, that wasn't me (OP). Said all I need to say. I've only posted twice on this thread I think, maybe a third post but I'm not going to take the time to check.

There are other people here posting that have in fact been through the process and know exactly what I am talking about.

Just trying to help people realize that U13 and under rankings don't mean anything except for maybe setting yourself up for future success IF approached the right way.

                            Have a good day.

Then you also realize that the smaller clubs really relied on proper development and not on recruiting:
                              - proper practices (and no massive cancellations)
                              - scrimmages against better and worse teams depending on what's needed
                              - general collaborative nature on a team and not the need to compete against 20 other players
                              - yadda yadda yadda the list is long

It you want to "take it for what it's worth", you are basically willingly asking to be robbed. This is just not good enough.

                              Bottom line is:
                              - if we had similar# of clubs compared to other areas, PDA/MF would be force to offer competitive training and could not depend on recruiting
                              - if PDA did not have monopoly on ECNL and didn't control prices, we'd be paying $500-$1000 less each season
You do realize those numbers are national and not state right?

Would like to add an addendum to #6 (not OP). Connections in general can play a huge part in getting on a college coaches radar. Playing with someone or against someone who is being looked at can also get you noticed.
