No pro or major D1 player ever developed themselves. You are a fool to even think so. They will practice on their own but usually a regiment from a trainer.

I will be at the GA Spring Showcase in April for those girls who are playing GA. For those at an ECNL club, except MF and PDA as I no longer recruit those clubs, check out one of our ID camps. Here’s the link: https://www.byusportscamps.com/womens-soccer-id-clinic
Lolol…desperate GA trolls seeking attention. I’m sure BYU coaches are posting on a NJ youth soccer forum. Nice job deflecting from the obvious that ECNL is dominant.

I find that kick and run is too ingrained in many ECNL players, thus my preference for GA players. I did sign two ECNL players this year if that any consolation.

            Go Cougars!!

Is it because GA players are too slow to play like that?

Fake coach has way too much time on his hands.

You just reinforced that clubs don't develop top players, they develop themselves

You just have to be fast enough. Very easy to shutdown a kick and run team. Just keep possession and let themselves gas out.

It’s my off-season. But your correct in that I could probably find something more conducive at this juncture.

"usually a regiment from a trainer" - Any player that went on to become something had outside training whether it from the club or their own expense. A proper club will train the players not just in foot skills but soccer IQ and speed of play and not focus on winning. I've seen to many clubs/teams brag about winning at u little over other clubs/teams by using kick and run when it was obvious they were looking to advance skills and not necessarily win. Clubs like SJEB are known for this at the younger ages and were interesting to watch. Talking with parents at games against them they used to have some weird requirements like certain number of passes before taking a shot or allowed to shot at all, finishing only as a one touch finish, not allowed to shot inside the box, everyone has to touch the ball and my favorite goalie can't use their hands for the first half.
