When someone says “likely” they are giving their own opinion that is not factual. Looking at the fact that PDA know how 3 teams in the State as well as other ECNL clubs not far away it comes down to depth of talent as one of many factors for ECNL to decide to further dilute the existing ECNL clubs. If your going to rely on “likely” for the next 2 years then your standing on shaky ground.

I agree with you. Must be PDA posting on here to generate interest. No one really cares if another team is added. The league is not that good.

ECNL is a closed league in NJ
PDA has and will keep its monopoly on NJ membership.
It’s stupid but they want people to think it’s exclusive.
The fools that flock to PDA to join 30-40 kid rosters.
GA, PDA, ECNL, ECRL same same but different

Really? Go to the ECNL showcase this weekend in NC and watch the matches, see the colleges attending and then tell us same, same.

Not to see teams in this area because they’re not that good. Likely some decent NC and other teams. The league in this area just isn’t good. I’m so sorry.

They would but they can't make ECNL anyway.

I agree ecnl in this area isn’t as strong as other areas of the country. Pa/NJ very equivalent to GA and NL teams in this area, and even not as good in many cases.

It’s because there are strong non-ecnl clubs in pa/nj, more so than in other areas. PDA also sucks the life out of the other ecnl clubs by taking their players. Very watered-down in this area.

The parents and coaches seem a little strange, too. A little too “involved” if you know what I mean. Lol.

This is a great post. I usually don’t like to generalize, but this is so true.

I think people are fooling themselves with what they perceive in this area. Every other ECNL division has overlap with the non-ECNL leagues. Every GA division has overlap, every DLP, NPL and a dozen other leagues all have overlap.

The thing people can't seem to put into perspective is team vs club. Most leagues are team based ie USYS/EDP, DLP, NPL...etc, any team can join and compete. Some of these teams can and do better then some of the GA and ECNL teams. BUT, that doesn't make the club they came from better.

Everyone bags on the areas clubs and teams and how "weak" they are compared to other areas of the country. Sure PDA South and MF won't win against a Tophat or SoCal Blues team. Doesn't mean they don't belong. It's like saying that the Browns or Lions shouldn't have a football team because they aren't as good as KC or Tampa. These "trash" clubs still play in top divisions in non-ECNL events.

Don't hate on leagues because your club/team is great in your eyes but can't get in. There are many factors that go into those additions and having a single dominate team isn't one of them. You can't compare team based success and translate that to club success in a club league.

Had me until the last paragraph. I'd say "don't hate on leagues because you perceive the one your kid is in to be better".

Agee, Ecnl in this region is weaker. And I agree it’s due to the strength of non-ecnl clubs in this area. Other areas in the country don’t have that, so individual ecnl clubs are stronger. Makes sense. Great post.
