I told my daughter that we will stick it out for another year or two to further develop at our GA club and then we can move to the ECNL in the showcase years. She hates losing games so it hasn't t been easy to sell the development angle and I fear she might start to focus more on other sports but we are trying to do what is best.

It’s a league created by the players for the players. Development first and foremost no bull crap stats about college placement or pro level placement. The %s are very low for playing at those levels so might as well have a good time and enjoy playing soccer in a great environment. GA has got it right. Kids are number one and it’s also very affordable compared to other options.

Everything else is just marketing spin. The same people who are now telling you it’s about kids having a good time were selling a different story in fall of 2019.

ECNL claims about development are questionable too. They aggregate the best athletes and have the best platform for being seen by college coaches but do they actually develop players? Your mileage will vary from club to club and coach to coach.

GA came about because of the massive implosion of GDA which was formed not as an alternative league about development but to destroy ECNL. US Soccer wanted power over ECNL and influence US youth soccer and used the National team as the carrot to draw the best players to the league. Do you think that GDA/DA is not about sending players to college? If you doubt me then you didn’t recently go to the GA Showcase event. That event even shut up the ECRL parents on TS. All you anonymous TS parents think you have influence in the NJ soccer landscape. In reality your a big part of the problem on the soccer landscape. The cycle of complaining will begin again in the Fall.

Huh? The GA is run by soccer people unlike it’s predecessor GDA which was all about $$$$. Now that GA has establish itself as the top platform for girls there are a lot of haters out there.

No hate whatsoever. GA has changed from competing against ECNL to become their own entity. It’s not just a league by/for players and purely about development. Development for what if not to continue playing in college? The best thing that could happen was the GA College showcase that had so many college coaches attending. That was an eye opener for the haters.
