Literally no one (except their players and parents) give a **** about NJ Nationals. Stop trying to make them “a thing.” I’d be hard-pressed to think of a more irrelevant NL club.

The Top STA team would bury the Nationals. Would you please stop with this nonsense. Nice team. The Nationals are not a club and if they were, they would be 3rd or 4th tier in the NJ. Their best team competes well against the top clubs 2nd or 3rd teams. They just got beat by PDA’s 3RD team. Their 2008s lost to MFAs 3rd team this spring. The 2005s should be very proud and I look forward to seeing how they do next weekend.

Has STA settled their coaching lineup post all the departures? Who’s coaching the 06 GA team is it Ylon?

Ylon is one of the best in the state so if the 06 team ends up with him that would be good. Very nice guy and very chill. Let’s the players do their thing.

I have an 06 daughter. I’m interested in STA. Can anyone who has experience with this club offer their thoughts about this GA team specifically. I understand they are going through some personnel changes and player changes. Would really love to hear from people who left the team in last year , as well as current player/parents…..thank you!

Haven’t tryouts already passed? Or are they still looking to add players, in which case a bad sign I suppose.

I saw this with all due respect....BUT

2 months after tryouts you think your D can walk onto a GA level team during the HS years? Good luck with that. Unless your kid is already fielding calls from D1 schools or happens to play (actually play, not a bench spot that get little to no dress time) for PDA Blue, WC or maybe even a starter for White I would say your D has little to no chance. They may say she does and offer 2nd or 3rd team and promise of being pulled up but yeah, good luck with that.

Can't saying it can't happen and by all means try but the odds are forever not in your favor on this one.

Thank you for the advice. Perhaps we will give it a shot anyway. She is a very good goalie. She’s been trained and plays on a competitive usys team. Family is moving from south to north New Jersey. We can stay where we are but one hell of a drive. It appears we have two good high level options in north Jersey.

Goalie makes it interesting. Call PDA and MFA, both clubs have multiple goalies in the NWSL and both have put over 10 goalies in D1 over the past 3 years. So do not be concerned if they won't guarantee a starting roll, many years all 4 goalies get D1 offers.

It just so happens that STA 06 GA team needs a goalie. You should call Ylon

2 types of players you can never have enough of. Good Keepers, and kids who can run by defenses. The former because they get injured and banged up, and the latter because they are so rare.
