If the players don't want more they shouldn't be part of a high level club. STA as a brand is supposed to be a high level club. Parents should expect more because they are paying for it. Why bother going to a club like STA without expecting to get the best out of your kid. Again, thats what you are paying 3k a year for

Very well put. Our GA club (not STA) has a similar philosophy, very chill. Leads to players playing relaxed, having fun and not stressing out about soccer. This is the way it should be.
        Not about wins and losses.

STA was a top notch development club until around 2017, then new ownership started, new management came in, 3 teams per age group BS, staff not very qualified, things got really watered down. They were a feeder to PDA, Red Bulls, etc... These players have either graduated or are graduating now. From now on you won't see the same quality because there's not much development going on in the younger age groups and there's now a focus more on growing the business, rather than developing players. Just look at roster size, back in the days there's No way they were carrying 24 player roster, charging extra for ref fees and traveling out of state to play crappy games.

Hope they are able to escape GA. That would give the club a much needed boost. Perhaps if STA moves to ECNL then PSA can backfill GA slot. That would be a win win.

That would make sense, but PDA will never let STA into ECNL.

Thats just sad for STA as a club and I know there are still some very good players there that dont feel the same. They want more. Thats what STA is supposed to be
True that. Need to be in a competitive environment where players are pushed to be their best, not this nonsense fun relaxed chill stuff. This can’t be a league driven thing must be a club thing.

You can be competitive, have fun, and be relaxed. This can push players to be their absolute best without destroying their love for the game. Just my opinion.

Ylon is one of the best with this approach. Nice guy, let’s the players do what they do. They need to figure out on their own not have a coach tell them what to do.

So final analysis is that Ylon is a relaxed chill coach that lets players figure things out for themselves.

                        No Thank you. Next Club.

This is different from what I'm describing. Players need instruction on deficiencies and how to improve. However, they need to be allowed to make mistakes and be creative without getting put on the bench for the rest of the game (obviously not if they're consistently making the same mistake but that's the coaches fault at that point).

Now, if you're discussing a coach that just let's his players play a game without yelling throughout the game and telling them what to do, I can agree with you.

yes, but only until STA decides to join ECNL. Then Ylon will become a mean, screaming coach to fit the new requirements.

You must want coaches threatening your D and letting her know that you find it fully acceptable to have people yell at her all the time OR it's not okay for her to make mistakes as long as she learns from them. I really wouldn't want that for my D

Nope I want an intense fun environment in practice where my daughter feels she has to be on her toes and aware and then I want her to play the game and execute the coaches lessons without having a coach barking orders Competitive and intensit does not equal less fun.
