I wouldn't take the chance. The club is not going to be the same next year with all of the changes in staffing. Not to mention why would a club that has 3 teams in an age group with over 60 kids to choose from need to go to the outside for new kids? If they are developing properly there should be plenty to move up from in house already.

Should they get ecnl then? Since some ecnl clubs can’t even field 2 quality teams.

Thats a whole other discussion. STA won't see ECNL ever. Right or wrong it is what it is

STA has multiple teams in each age group but the B and C teams are hardly quality teams. Rec level at best

Tough call. They are in a rough spot right now.

How do you know who is coaching what team next year?

Does anyone know what coaches are assigned to the GA teams?

I only know about Ylon for 06s. I have a friend who has a few kids there. If you email Tom Shields tshields@stasoccer.org he should be able to give you info about other ages

Agreed. STA won't be the same next year without Tim and Kelly. That 06 team lost alot of good players so the team won't be the same next year either. If you decide to go there just keep in mind they are rebuilding. U16 is a little late in the game to deal with that if you are looking for college exposure.

Don't get me wrong I like Ylon but he is not going to get my kid or any others playing at a high level. You all need to ask yourselves, why didn't STA give Ylon any DA teams last year? Why didnt STA give Ylon any GA teams this year? He is going to get a GA team for next year but that is only because there is no one else left!
Huh??? Some people make no sense!

He is saying Ylon is not a good coach and STA knows it. He is one of the few coaches that will be left next year so by default he gets a GA team.

Please do not blame the club as they are doing their best to survive the landscape in a watered down GA that is a shadow of what the GDA was. STA is still a quality organization and has top notch coaches (ie Ylon), but the crappy GA situation is making things difficult for the club. You don’t think the departures have something to do with the weak league?

They used to have good coaches in the past, but they all left, with Tim and Kelly leaving, there's really No quality anymore. Boys side is even worse I hear.

Loss of DA plays a role but the ownership plays a big part in the decline

Loss of DA hurt a ton, we used to beat CSA 10-0 now these games are ties.....mind boggling.
