Whats sad is the STA devoted parents really don't see or understand whats going on. I know quite a few parents over there and they are oblivious. I am curious to see how it will all pan out but I would assume the club(s) PSA and STA would be bought by someone

Correct, just look at what happened to GPS in NJ they rebranded to Surf or whatever they are called now.

But what would someone really be buying? STA doesn’t own any fields, they don’t have access to girls ECNL, there isn’t much of a premium on GA or boys ECNL. You would be buying the name which has lost value during Newman’s ownership.

I had two kids at STA on both teams less than 10% of kids were from MUSA rec or travel. I am not a big fan but their draw is much larger area. There isn't much competition in Morris county, nothing in Sussex and they get kids from Essex and Union counties as well. When we were there a few years ago they had almost 700 players...or over $2M in revenue I think they got larger after we left. They have been great at marketing...while I think the coaching is mediocre at best most clubs would love to have even half the players or teams they roster.

A few years make a difference. The past few there has been a push to put the rec/travel teams into STA instead and they’ve been creating C&D teams.

It would actually make sense for MatchFit to take over and get access to the Morris County fields (with lights!). But I have no confidence that they could figure out how to do it or be successful in managing it.

I dont care what anyone says. My girls still at STA and I am worried what the club will look like next year and beyond. The owner issue is one problem. With Tim and Kelly leaving the club will not be the same. You can say what you want about either of them but they made STA what it is and without them the club just won't be the same
