No one knew about it the USSDA just pulled the plug unexpectedly on everyone. At least the clubs and coaches deserved a heads up. With that said the GA has done a great job in short order establishing itself as the top league in the country and has surpassed ECNL. Very impressive.

Completely untrue. Every DA doc knew about it and people openly spoke about the impending collapse during the fall prior to covid. I knew boys side parents and coaches who had all heard directly from nycfc academy staff that BDA was a goner and that was september 2019. My D's old coach at her previous club straight up said that while they hadnt been given the official announcement, they all knew the decision was being taken to kill DA for 3 months before last april's big news that both GDA and BDA were done. Honestly, I think all of these leagues and clubs are full of it, please do not think that this was as "shocking" as some people have made it out to be.

Why? Cause they heard rumors of the DA going under? What did you want them to do? US Soccer was tight lipped about all of it and then used Covid as a reason for shutting down. Cindy Parlow should be the one held accountable. She became the new US Soccer President right before the DA went under and had vested interest in the US Women's lawsuit along with an affiliation with the ECNL through NCFC. I guess NCFC leaving the DA a couple months prior didn't have any influence in her decision to drop the DA. There should've been an investigation into all of this because US Soccer got a PPP loan and the lawsuit they anticipated paying as a result of the USWMNT was thrown out, yet the DA was completely and swiftly tossed aside.

ALl i know is that i heard it second hand months ahead of time from someone connected to NYCFC and that my D's old coach who we still have some contact with made an offhand comment about how they'd heard months in advance that the collapse was imminent but that when covid hit they figured they had some more time. My experience with these clubs and DOCS tells me that its most likely that they all knew, or at least had a really strong sense, that DA was a dead duck and they wanted to pretend that they did this amazing job of salvaging the programs through all of their good will and amazing connections.

And since this thread is about STA and TV leaving I can tell you he is the biggest Ahole of them all. Not only was he getting families to return to the club for 20-21 season he sold the crap out of GA to so many parents. Including many unsuspecting new ones.
