You make no sense. There was nothing normal about this season if your a freshman - senior. There are conferences that did not play in the fall and are now playing an abbreviated seasons to qualify for the NCAA’s and those who played an abbreviated fall and spring season. Clearly, the NCAA see this year as not normal and no one is telling colleges it’s mandatory for an extra year. Coaches will look at it on a individual basis. For the incoming freshman “it is what it is”.

I see both sides of the argument, but it comes down to what's fair for athletes who were caught unexpectedly by something totally out of their control. If a 2020 entrant deferred, redshirted or their program had no season at all, is it fair for their career to now be cut short a year?

Will not affect the best players one bit other than to ask the wealthy ones if they will take less to allow more to go elsewhere.

Wow, your blatant negative stance towards all the student/athletes who were not able to enjoy a full season or play this season at all astounds me for your lack of empathy. Your thinking about your daughter and to hell with everyone else from freshman to seniors. Thankfully, calmer smarter heads prevail and the NCAA, College AD’s have rightly decided to move on from this year and give the present student athletes an additional year which all agree is the right thing to do. College coaches are making adjustments for those student/athletes who they want/and want to play an additional year including my daughter. Therefore, it time for you to move on because its happening. You must be something else to even suggest otherwise. The shame is on you.

Who cares. ECNL checks are long cashed, but ECNL provided zero service it was supposed to. A total sham. We only joined because of showcases. Practices are way below any reasonable level of soccer coaching and local games are not there.

This is the second year ECNL is taking the money and not fulfilling their agreements. Refunds are in order.

That’s true so video is the only way to try to get on the radar now. The challenge there is that most coaches still want to see players play in person multiple times and in different environments (games, camps etc). Can they just recruit based on video????

Again, someone giving a false narrative. Colleges will be holding one day clinics. Players need to check websites of those colleges they are interested in and are a good fit for them both academically and as a player. If you have coaches you have been in touch with they will tell you directly via email or email them directly. Those dates will vary depending on the college and the State they are located. Now is the time for the player to be vigilante and be on top of the process. There is light at the end of the tunnel regardless what some parents think but don’t know.
