When is the typical calendar time to switch clubs? Can a club pick up a new player now? What if they already play for another team? Clarifying.... can you leave a current club and move on during the spring? Or is there a certain time you have to wait?

leave whenever you choose - the club will most likely keep your payment. The club could hold your child's player card, which would prevent playing in a like US Club or USYS league. The club could also turn over the card and let your child play for the new club right away. I have seen players move in the middle of Fall and over the break to play Spring for a new team. The clubs are encouraging both at once and mid-year movement by hosting "ID clinics". -
Leave when you want. Generally they will release the card, but some will hold it and make things difficult. That is few and far between. Sometimes in the spring, during try outs, if the coach knows you are not coming back they will ask you to leave if they can fill your spot and it makes it easier.Comment
