Only if they are an elite stud. I see plenty of internationals on teams below #200 rpi.

Maybe cause hc is international, they feel they get a pass.

Bottom line is that Rutgers is the best soccer program for women in the area. And many like the fact that they can be close to home get a degree and play in front of their family at a reasonable cost.
Regardless of what others think, this years team is one of the best that Rutgers has ever put on the field. Part of that success is due to the infusion of PDA players.

Wrong. Princeton is the best soccer program in the area. No comparison.

Both are good soccer programs; RU is a good school and PU is an excellent school. Good options.

Sorry no. You can never ever compare Princeton to Rutgers.

If my daughter had a choice between both Princeton and Rutgers I would hope she would choice Princeton if we could afford it. Remember Ivy's give no money for sports.
But from a pure soccer perspective, Rutgers is so much better. afte rall they put two players in the women's Professional league every year. Princeton 0. further in the last 8 contests between Rutgers and Princeton. Princeton is 1-7.
Rutgers 7-1. Princeton win this after being down and dominated by 2 goals Rutgers was a fluke win. My bet is that MO was not happy with the sloppy play.

But it's precisely because Princeton doesn't have athletic $ and has stricter admissions standards that they won't attract the same kind of talent. Not many players have the academic chops for the Ivies. If you aren't well off you can go to an Ivy for free, but many soccer families make too much to qualify for financial aid. At 75 K a year that rules out plenty of players that can't swing it

Princeton has money for the right athlete/student no matter their background. The don’t give full rides but they do give tons of money and they have an extremely large endowment.

Ivies only give financial assistance. There is no athletic money, no merit money either. Their cut offs for financial assistance vary by school and yes are much higher than federal guidelines, but many soccer families (upper middle to higher income families) make too much to qualify.

Ivy info - and this is just tuition, not all in.

I will say, with a Princeton degree you will make back the cost of school within a few years. The opportunity after is far superior to anything even close to what a Rutgers student would receive. It’s a long term investment that pays big both financially and mentally.

Perhaps the kids that play soccer @Princeton have far better alternatives OUTSIDE a sport that pays at least 60% of its players the league minimum - $20k. To judge a program solely on drafted players is nonsense. How many players has Rutgers had drafted in the first two rounds? How many are on teams OUTSIDE of the local one Gotham FC? How many are non Goal keepers. If Rutgers are so much better than Princeton, FSU,USC,UVA,Santa Clara,Duke, UNC,Stanford,UCLA and a few others are much much better than RU. This argument boils down to one thing - where you choose to draw the line at Elite. OP seems to have reduced tha argument to best in the area. If a program is not attracting the best in the USA and is filling slots with kids from predominantly one Club, either a. those kids are the best in the country and have multiple comparable offers from the best programs nationally ( see above) and chose RU over them b. The program is not considered elite by enough elite players. What we think is cool, but just look at where the very best players choose to go.
