Originally posted by Unregistered View PostDefinitely is a personal decision and many factors, my pov was only general and based on experience where theres a huge difference between how the first and second teams are treated. At some clubs the second team is treated really well, which woukd really be a positive for them if i was evaluating. Ultimately whatever works for your child is best for sure.

Tried out and received offers from A-teams at clubs that are now GA, but ultimately decided to stay with the ECRL team and is now on the roster at a strong D3 college team. Am pretty sure going to one of those A-teams wouldn't have changed her trajectory for college soccer, but am also pretty sure that adding the 30-45 minutes of travel 2-3x/week for practices might have impacted both her academics and her desire to play.

But on D's team, the coach switched to a new team manager, and it made all the difference in the world. The old team manager treated the role pretty much like an administrator and that was it. The new team manager worked hard to get the club to pay more attention to the team and it really payed off.

ECNL is going to gut GA as in order for GA to gain clubs they would have to take them from DLP and USYS/EDP who are their partner leagues.

Does anyone see this as a promotion? The wording is clear. They are being given an “opportunity” for “promotion” to ECNL. That clearly means welcome to RL but they are also saying after a few years maybe there will be promoted. So that means the majority of players U15 and up when the college showcase years matter will not have that opportunity.

If these clubs really think they have what it takes then why not go for it? Instead of applying for ECNL year after year why not go ECRL and just prove it.
