Attack on trainers and managers

Seem like a constant on here. Zero appreciation for how hard the trainers and managers work and how much they care about each child. Parents have reached a new low. Expecting that everything be handed to them and their child on a platter, jumping from club to club, backstabbing other loyal families and again no appreciation for the managers who handle 3-4 teams at a time and also serve as DoC in some cases. Sorry if this sounds like venting but to expect to be playing in the dead of winter and in the middle of a pandemic like nothing ever happened is just plain unrealistic. Please focus on the positives, be thankful for what you have and make the best of it.

Trainers, coaches and managers that care about each kid? WOW....Sorry, but just no. Coaches are constantly LOOKING to pick up the next best player. When you're coach has a winning team and still recruits what is that? Even on the bottom end when they do next to nothing for development and point to next year as a better year to the top players parents to keep them around. Some of the most loyal club parents are also some of the most entitled elitists around. God help you if your kid replaced one of theirs. And what club has a team manager as a DoC? Coach maybe but not a DoC. Every manager I've seen has been the biggest brown noising parent on the team. So what does winter and the pandemic have to do with kids not playing? Other clubs can do it? Leagues and tournaments are still going on? So what is any club not doing anything or next to nothing really going to say about it?

Why are parents pissed off and vent in places like this? Because we spend thousands for training that doesn't happen because clubs nix entire parts of the season and skimp on training. Because coaches are promoted for bringing kids in while good coaches are forced out. Because most coaches, trainers, managers do enough for the kids.

Terrific post you make a ton of good points. I’m sure that’s not the case for all but we could not even get any attention from our trainer after addl players were brought in. Tells you they “don’t care about every child”. That’s just bull crap.

Agree youth soccer parents have gone off the rails. I would not call them grown ups, jumping from club to club, playing politics, stealing players from other clubs, trying to make all kids of shady deals and on and on. Oh and god forbid anything is canceled on them, demanding immediate refunds, answers etc. Just be a parent, pay your dues and let your kid enjoy the best years of their life!
