I would think communications from the coach themselves would have been the better way to go. Maybe the coaches have a non-compete until the end of the year? Pretty crappy that these teams were left in limbo.

Mining parent information and then trying to make sure your local competition doesn't grab the teams is just business and nothing to do with caring about the kids and their parents. Getting a random email from another club to try and get you to come over mid-year isn't exactly personal.

It’s crazy that y’all haven’t figured out what a cesspool youth soccer has sadly become. Between the GPS, CSA, PSA, NJX and I could go on and on....it’s all about the money no cares about the kids or the families involved. Lies after lies, empty promises after empty promises. Just reading about the GPS scandal...you can’t make that stuff up. Visa fraud scheme for UK trainers....anyway hope everyone at NJX lands on their feet and finds a good club with honest people and a good environment.

It makes him a bad guy cause as the DOC of a club who was previously associated with the club that you just ended ties with you don't seek out players from that club to come to yours in the middle of a season. This just shows you how he plays the game when it comes to recruitment among other things. Let the dust settle and let them come to you. The funny thing is all he's talked about his how high his 09 numbers are...if this was the case why is he openly recruiting the NJX team to play for MF Shore? Is it possible the numbers aren't as high as RT says.

            Big announcements are as follows:

MF Shore 09 team will be the ECNL team next year with practices out of the shore location and games in Denville. RT remains the coach - this has been talked about for months and no shock. No one ever said the kids weren't good enough. Not shocking that practices are split from games as this accommodates the parents and the league is covered with games in Denville. Of course RT is the coach since they are practicing at the shore. If you love him you love this announcement. If you don't, then it gives you another thing to complain about.

MF Shore applied for an ECNL badge - not shocking at all. Delusional to think they'll get it with PDA down the street and their own Shore location on the other side of MF Shore. If RT keeps building better younger teams at the shore location, expect this to continue every year until the North location steps up.

Breaking ground on their own facility with it opening in the next few years - seems pie in the sky stories as MF North doesn't have their own fields. Real estate is cheaper in Monmouth county, but would MF North really want to spend money on a satellite location before their own is taken care of?

Potential for ECRL out of the Shore - not impossible, but are people forgetting they already have ECRL out of Denville? It doesn't matter if there are entire NJX or MF Shore b team kids, they'd have to complete with the North kids for the same spots. this goes along with the ECNL comment, if the quality is better than RT will have ECRL also practicing out of the shore and playing in Denville.

All in all, a big nothing burger with a bunch of things long expected and a lot of over promising by RT to make sure people stay and/or sell potential parents on the club. If you know RT then you already know at least 75% of the announcement is bs so you're well prepared. Don't be suckered in.

Yep. That’s a big whomp whomp.

MFA has coveted a 2nd ECNL team, but that is very hard to get. I could see them getting a 2nd ECRL for the shore. The Shore 2009s deserve to be the ECNL team, but I think that is a hard precedent to set. The other option is the team will be based out of both places, which is very tough on coaches, players, and especially parents. The games have to be in Denville to meet the league requirements. Of course if they set the precedent they should be prepared to play them at the Shore.

What RT did calling NJX players is ok in my book.

Pretty crappy for someone to steal parents contact information on your way out the door and use those contacts to fuel your own business. PSA is probably at fault as well because something tells me they haven't contacted any of these parents yet to welcome them and give them their plan. If RT is offering NJX parents a free season and they get their MF coach back then I'm guessing a lot of these teams will move over because of the "low risk". Keep in mind this guy is a fast talking used car salesman that loves to reference his only "accomplishment". He'll tell you everything you want to hear to get you to sign on the dotted line. I guess you'll all witness RT first-hand.

A message to the NJX parents - ECRL is TERRIBLE in this area. It's equivalent to flight 3-4 edp (not inclusive of usys). Even if MF Shore gets an ECRL team based there, you won't be playing competitive soccer and there is zero "path to ECNL". Once an ECRL kid, always an ECRL kid (at the same club in general).

Let's be very clear on this.... even though there is nothing wrong with him reaching out to the NJX parents, this was not done because hes such a caring person and really cares about the kids. It's a money thing flat and simple. He needs to bring in more kids to MF Shore to bring his numbers up. Some of the stuff he said in the call was flat out lies, or worse case, wishful thinking on his part. I will give him credit, he didn't put down or mention his former club at all which we were shocked about. All I can say is take what he said with a grain of salt. The zoom call was a sales pitch, nothing more. One thing though, and I can't strees this enough, please stop bringing up your 09 team. We get it, their good. There was no reason why we needed to hear about them several times during the call.

Not a free season. There's a fee for the spring season which plus tournaments which will be out of pocket.

As a parent in the u17 program I have to laugh when people brag about 11 year olds. Can’t wait to see where they all are in a few years.

This entire post shows a lack of understanding. What did he steal? What business is his own? The older ECRL teams would crush EDP flight 3-4 teams and most if not all of the younger ones would as well. It's not the best league, but let's be a little realistic.

Agreed ECRL whether you’re at PDA or MF are likely on par with EDP 2/3 divs which is not bad but certainly below USYS Div 1. Total money grab.

So this exact same situation just happened in Maryland over the last two years. The 2008 Pipeline Coach got the phone numbers of parents from 2008 Coppermine Girls. Coach got caught and Coppermine sued Pipeline for over $2m dollars. They ended up settling out of court however Pipeline still ended up unscathed for the most part. Coppermine absorbed other small clubs with the money and Pipeline was barred from any tournaments managed by the company Elite Tournaments.

In the end, it was not a big price to pay because many parents have no idea. Pipeline just ended up losing a lot of respect from area clubs for their actions.

If my contact information was released to another club without my consent, I would be livid. Poor judgement all around.
