Most wouldn't move their kid if they knew their kid is 16-22 on a coach's ranking, but many clubs aren't exactly forthcoming about where their kid would fit on the roster. A little frankness would go a long way to curb movement, but it's bad for business.

Youth soccer is a business and we parents pay a lot of money and yes we have high expectations. Whether or not our kids are at the level we think they are we want the most value for our money

Many are hog tied by management to not speak the truth and take a few extra players that don't belong. Coaches don't get paid much, especially given what they have to deal with from parents, and often have another job to help pay the bills. Yes some are idiots, but in this environment it's no wonder plenty don't stay in the profession long. Three of the best coaches my three kids had left for other professions and a 4th got the hell out and into the college game asap.
