Since most posts are completely ridiculous/mostly biased let's try and set the record straight on the things that people seem obsessed with....
1) The DA disbanding without a doubt hurt those that used it as a shield against the ECNL teams. It without a doubt strengthens the ECNL clubs, and while the GAL is still a bit of an unknown, it is never going to be anything more then EDP soccer at best while traveling to far away places. They can claim all the want but the proof is that most GAL clubs would cut off an arm to get an ECNL spot/invite.
2) "We are the Shore" has got to go...while it's comical at times you need to get a life.
3) Everyone seems to be concerned with the MFA 09 Shore ECNL spot - you need to move on. They already have the ECNL spot, maybe it'll be out of Denville, but they'll be in the ECNL next Fall. I could see MFA Shore getting ECNL at some point but it might take a year to two. Regardless, it seems like MFA is going to award whichever team location deserves it more.
4) The DA folding up is going to put a hurt on CSA - best facilities in NJ and top 5 in the country for sure but the program is going to be challenged over the next 18 months to field quality teams and complete against the like of PDA South, MFA Shore, etc as those players are going to realize that life in the GAL isn't worth the 3k tuition.
5) People should realize that "team practices" are just that - team practices. For all of you who obsess over who is the best coach/club coach/college coach - take your pick - players individual that want to play on a high level need constant coaching and training to get them out of there
comfort zone. To be a really got player you need to play/train ALL the time...it's the lazy parents that think because that they pay a 2-3k tuition for a soccer club think that there kids don't need more outside training...for some that may be enough but to play at a certain level your likely going to need a lot more...each kid is different but for those that want to train more - great! For those that don't want more training then don't. There is no right or wrong just whatever path your or your child choose.
6) Lastly, the quarantine talk needs to stop...amazing how three weeks post Trump leaving office that areas and stadium are opening up and all seems to be getting better again. I guess a lot has changed in three weeks. It is a scary virus for some, obviously more so for people with underlying conditions. We can't have youth sports/schools shutdown anymore - it has been one of the greatest magic shows of our lives and has done a tremendous disservice to our kids, effects that we might not know for 5-10 years from now.
