This is bad advice. You cannot negotiate the fee with CSA. It is what it is. Everyone pays the same unless you are a training player only.

      What year is your daughter?

LOL, you can definitely negotiate with them as you can with any club. If you don’t you’re just a sucker. We don’t play for CSA but I’m friends with a family that plays there and said they were able to negotiate playing for a quarter of the price, maybe even less. Not sure if it’s true but if it isn’t why would they brag about it?

This is the ONLY real option any (non first year) parent has with CSA. Do NOT pay anything and hold out paying as long as possible. They will threaten with not holding a spot, not allowing your child to train, not carding, etc. - but once you send payment to CSA - your are out of luck. If they do not deliver on the things they guarantee or promise - your room to haggle / argue is gone. They do not return emails or phone calls, they do not negotiate in any way. It is VERY difficult (but possible) to get out of those payment contracts - but it takes effort and time to call your credit card company / bank and explain they are in breach of contract. Best thing to do is stall as long as possible until you can see and know exactly what is going to happen. Which League and Bracket your team will play in - how many kids on the roster (initially) - who is the actual coach, how bad the parents are and which ones are up the coach's butt - this is a BIG deal. If the coach says "here are the rules" and then 3 or 4 players / parents to not follow them - you are out of luck

They say they will not hold a spot. This is BS - CSA is notorious for telling every naïve parent that - forcing early payment and commitment - 2 weeks later players are added to the roster who did not try out, did not pay, etc, and this will continue throughout the season.

          Here is the Process:
Print out all the registration documents from the Online Site. Complete them and sign and drop them off hard copy to the office mailbox or mail them in. This way your paperwork is in - the kid is registered and they know of your intent to play - but they cannot start taking your money before the child has even set foot on the field.
Keep following up with emails - reinforcing your registration and intent to play, commit, etc - keep stalling - they will allow your kid to play while sorting it all out.

CSA is the worst in terms of administration, organization, etc - Stall Stall Stall - pay as last resort

they NEED the kids, enrollment is down - no matter how much they pretend they are selective - they won't turn away your player

Just like with any contract you should always read it. What you think is “breach” is actually something you agreed to when you signed the contact. Every club asks you to sign a contract. I think it’s just a courtesy with any business that is asking you to sign a contract, you have to do so in good faith and educated. Otherwise go to another club if you're already going into it mistrusting. Don’t t play games with them as to when you’ll sign, how you’ll sign, when you’ll pay, etc. they are building rosters based on committed players. But it sounds like you like to play this kind of game with the clubs you’ve been to and that is just crappy.

Pay with a credit card if you have to pay and when, Yes when not “if” CSA screws you dispute the charges.CSA needs the ability to have parents pay with CC, since the club is always up to their usual tricks dispute the charge and most likely CC company will end up winning a dispute with CSA. CSA needs to remain in good standing with CC companies or they will lose the ability to work with CC companies.

Last thing on this topic no matter what the girl’s side tells you don’t believe a word of it. Notorious group of frauds .

Yes, that's what we did. we just stopped monthly credit card charges to CSA. We told our credit card not to make payments.

They need a lot of players and they will literally take anyone. During Covid shutdown players were getting offered spots without been seen once if that tells you anything.

My daughter was offered a green spot on a younger age group without trying out. They had played against us and made an offer.
