Kelly will turn things around. You will see. She is the best coach in Northeast. Just ask her

No big deal. We have really good 07s that will move up to make the 06 team even stronger

Yeah, the fall season didn't work out. Trying to appease the HS/non-HS factions was a mistake. Add in a pandemic, there wasn't the activity many had hoped. Of course, it was the same as other leagues that shut down for the fall, but you already knew that.

Is that what Tim is calling parents/kids who want what we were promised? We are now factions. One big reason many did not like DA was because not being able to play HS. When GA was formed it was promoted that our kids can now play HS. So we did. STA was the only GA club in the area that tried to have a 4 day week fall practice schedule. every other GAL club let their kids play HS without an issue. It backfired on Tim. Tim told us we could now play HS and when we did along with many other on the team he had issue with it. He is so full of it.

What leagues shut down because of covid this fall in NJ? The other leagues don't have a season for HS ages in the fall you Big Dummy!

The GA post DA days has been very hypocritical with the HS play issue. In DA days they went out of their way to criticize HS soccer to no end. It’s bad for you, you’re a fool if you play it etc. Why? Because it fit the business narrative. Now that GA “allows” it the coaches are telling everyone how wonderful it is and how much they enjoy seeing the girls play HS ball. We’ve even had coaches show up to the girls HS games to show their support. These are the same aholes that were telling the girls not to play HS soccer and even punishing them if they did (obviously the DA did not allow it, but it’s common knowledge it went on anyway). The narrative changes like the wind...to fit the business model. If you can’t see that you’re blind.

USDA underestimated the draw of HS soccer from the start. Look at how many players and clubs got caught trying to work around the system. GAL then tried to make it "optional" but quickly saw that was unworkable because too many wanted to play. It's always about business.

She will probably agree, but she can't coach all their teams.

Yes. total about face on the HS stance from the GAL league. But STA frowned upon the kids that wanted to play HS. Also kids playing HS screwed up the rest of the team for the ones who didn't play HS. The idea of a 10 month season sounds great but just won't work. Too many kids want to play HS. Thats where ECNL has it right and always has. If you intend to stay in GAL just understand that there will never be a true fall season because of HS. Even if your kid doesn't play HS most of her team will

Also, pretty much every college coach was against the no HS rule. They like HS soccer because it gives the players a sense of pride that club soccer never does. They say they can see that right away in the attitudes of the recruits. Some are playing for their own individual glory and others are playing for team/school pride.

She is a very good coach. My kids never played in that club, but I know her. If STA is losing players, I would expect MFA and PDA to be the beneficiaries.

Very true, HS soccer brings a passion and camaraderie that club soccer seldom does. Plus college soccer is in essence like HS soccer on steroids! Very similar styles of play generally speaking. College coaches already know this and look past the pretty style of soccer played in leagues like GA. Not a lot of physicality, ball pressure and tough tackles like you see in HS.

Ans also the four-year cycle. Seniors being mentors (and tormentors) to the Freshman who may not get much playing time, etc. If you haven't gone through that in HS, and are the prima donna on your team, you will have a rough time at college.

They over estimated the pool of players who had any incentive to give up HS sports. very few did. If GDA was free, had lasted say 5 years and was "developing" players that were excelling on the field, no HS would have been a non issue. A mid level Club player who played 30 mins a game had no incentive to give up the one aren she could star in. GDA needed those players to survive in what is a volume business.

GDA had no chance of success in the existing landscape. Making money is about convincing the mid level player to join. No curriculum change or coaching regimen is going to elevate them from mid level to YNT level player. Those kids have a limited number of games left to enjoy and cutting HS was never going to fly.

Kids who felt HS soccer was not beneficial to their plans stopped playing long before GDA tried to mandate it.
